Sadly selling my runway model beautiful, award winning, rebuilt from the ground up,1980 CJ-7.This vehicle underwent a frame-off build in 2012. I'm the second owner, and I purchased it in late 2014 as a present to myself after 18 months in Afghanistan.
Original owner never took it off-road. Jeep is street legal, with good road manners and PUH-LENTY of power. I used mostly as a daily driver. When taking off-road, I've only used for trail riding; no hard core rocks or mud, or 4WD parks.
There's over $35K total invested in this vehicle. It's been entered in 2 Jeep shows (1 x original owner, 1 x myself) and placed first in each. I'm not selling it because I want to, but because I must. Reserve price is a gift.
22K miles on a throttle body electronic fuel injected, rebuilt AMC 360. Combine this with a T18 manual transmission (with attached hand throttle), an Atlas II transfer case, 4.56 gears with front and rear lockers, and you can jump off the line like Usain Bolt, or crawl like David Hasselhoff on a drunken cheeseburger binge. High steer, trussed and welded Dana 44 with Warn hubs, Dana 60 rear with Dynatrac axles. Undercover Fabworks designed custom front diff cover, and solid rear diff cover.
FRD, RWD, 4WD; pick your poison. Whatever your mood and the terrain dictate, just do it. And do it with confidence. Spring over axle suspension lift, with a one inch body lift, Boomerang shackles in front. Traction bar in rear. Front and rear Rancho adjustable shocks, front shocks mounted on custom shock hoop plus Monte Carlo style bar connecting both sides. 1/4 inch steel belly pan skid and 1/4 inch steel fuel tank skid covers transfer case and custom aluminum fuel tank. Rock sliders and rear corner guards.
Keep running like an escaped convict with two new, Deka Intimidator AGM batteries; a heavy duty marine alternator; raised, vented differential and transfer case breathers; and a new, reinforced and bracketed power steering box with cooler.
Heavy duty, steel F/R bumpers; Super Swamper 35 x 10.5 Radial tires (5), with a custom heavy duty steel spare tire carrier in back, and a Daystar jack attached; Toss in an on-board stick welder, (sticks, goggles, glove, and case are included), an on-board air compressor (with hose and fittings), and a Warn XD9000i winch mounted on the front bumper, and you might just get home in time for dinner if you have an "uh-oh" moment, and Murphy rears his ugly head. Front and rear disc brakes with new pads for your stopping pleasure.
Beautiful all steel body, no patches no rust, rust free frame; Custom roll bar; Corbeau Baja seats with harnesses up front, rear bench seat with lap belt; Lock boxes (3); Cobra CB radio; Bikini top; F/R Hella fog lights; Alpine stereo with Alpine F/R speakers round out the interior, but to be frank, you probably wont listen to the stereo much, as the music this engine puts out is sweeter than an Eric Clapton solo.
