Up for sale here is a true survivor, a 1979 AMC Jeep Wagoneer, the original SUV. These are getting more rare everyday in this condition. Purchased from the original owner, this is a matching numbers Wagoneer and has just over 81k original miles. I have showed this vehicle at many car shows over the last couple of years and two things always happen at the shows: Number 1, its the only Wagoneer at the show and Number 2 so many people come by and tell their stories of growing up in the back of one of these vehicles. They were driven hard both on and off the road which makes it so rare to find one in this condition.
Was originally purchased in Seattle, WA (I have all the original paperwork from original owner and all the paperwork that has ever been on this vehicle) this Jeep was garaged for 36 years by the original owner and used as a 2nd vehicle, especially in the Winter when 4WD was needed for getting around town in the snow. Hence the reason for the very low miles. It actually was a special order when purchased new from the AMC dealer on Aurora Blvd. in Seattle and it has front bucket seats and A/C which still works great. Most all of these Wagoneers had front bench seats, so to have one with front buckets is very rare. It has the original AM/FM radio with Jeep badge, an added cassette deck, dual gas tanks, brand new headliner, original mounting for the spare tire, and the power sliding rear window works with either the key or off the dashboard. Carpet and seats are both original in excellent condition. (see pictures)
Its all original with matching numbers all around; transmission was rebuilt about 10 years ago but has all original housing, etc. It does have three dings in the body which I have taken pictures of and added to this ad.
According to Hagerty's valuation tool, the price keeps going up on these vehicles and this one will not disappoint. More pictures upon request. Seller will not pay for shipping.
