1986 Jeep Wagoneer NO RESERVE

Has anyone seen the classic (and one of greatest movies to ever feature a Jeep) The Great Outdoors? Yes, the movie with John Candy. Well, that's the movie that started my love and obsession with Jeeps - more so, the Jeep Wagoneer. The beautiful, beastly, burgundy (deep red) colored Jeep with the wooden panels, made of not real wood, on the side. Let's cut to the scene. John Candy drives up to the "bear dump" with his kids in the car and throws a couple of candy bars on the hood of his Jeep "...watch the paint job!”, he yells as the bears begin to climb up on the hood and roof of his beautiful Wagoneer.

Seeing that Jeep take the weight of two bears while slowly driving off was the beginning of my Wagoneer search. Fast forward 22 years later and I found it!

Within 3 days of purchasing, I took him (my Jeep has a gender- male) out to show the world of my accomplishments. Of course, the people who stopped to stare and even offer to buy him from me had no clue the long love I have had for this car...err him. I would think, are you crazy I would never sell my Jeep!?

I had big dreams for him. I was going to fix him. That was my relationship goals. He took care of me and I was going to do right by him and take care of him. I was going to start with esthetics - a new paint job, some BFG's, black rims, maybe even tint him out to give him a rougher - don't mess with me - kind of look and then I stood back and saw how his gentle look was more appealing. Maybe a fresh coat, new woodies, and BFGs with the original rims would be a better approach. And then I got to thinking, is this what I want to do? Change the way he looks? Why not get him into the physical shape he needs to be to keep up with my wild side of overlanding and 4x4ing?? I began to list off the things I was going to do and save money for. In the meantime, we got to know each other and as everyone stopped us to talk about how handsome he is and how much they love him - even though they don't know you like I do - I began to lose track of what I was going to do. We took many road trips together up and down California, to the most remote locations in Arizona and then I parked you up and told you I would be back where I would focus more time on you and keep the promises I once made to you. Months turned to years and you became the dreaded "daily driver”. We no longer took long trips together and I saw whenever I glanced out the window how much you longed for a better life. A life where your skills and abilities were not taken for granted. A life where you could meet other Jeeps and be more social.

I'm taking a big step and moving aside. I can no longer be selfish and turn down people who would offer you a better life/home while I kept you to myself think I could be the one to provide all that and more.

This is not one of those things where if I love you and set you free that you come back to me because you're truly mine and if you don't you were never mine to begin with. No. This is a true good bye. It's not you, it's me. But remember one thing. You were and will always be my first Jeep.

Please come by and check it out before placing a bid/purchasing. I'm not a mechanic so I wouldn't know how to answer mechanical related questions. The battery needs to be replaced, wipers, tires, and probably everything else. Like I said, it's a project, fixer upper, for parts, kind of vehicle. I'm also very bad at describing things, so if you are curious about the physical condition of the car my suggestion would be to schedule a time to see it in person. My suggestion to you is that if you want this vehicle (or any vehicle) that you should have a mechanic that you know and trust to come take a look at it. By ignoring these suggestions, by not getting in touch with me before placing a bid or purchasing this car, and by going off of this listing alone without professional advice, you assume all responsibilityof how the car looks/works.

Please also note that once you purchase this Jeep that it's none refundable. No take backs. I'm walking away and it's unhealthy to linger in the past (this is more and advisory for me than for you although an advisory to you nevertheless). So please don't share pictures of the progress he's makings and the great adventures you're on.

Fun fact, this Jeep has been in an Adam Sandler movie, Sandy Wexler! Happy bidding!
