1982 Jeep CJ Base Sport Utility 2-Door

The undisputed king of go-anywhere survivability has to be the Jeep CJ7, and with a recent restoration, this awesome 1982 Jeep CJ7 Renegade proves there's virtually no mud you can't grind through, no stream you can't ford, and no rock you can't climb.
The Renegade was the most popular CJ line, a package that looked as tough as it did simple and clean. Finished in glossy black paint, it looks as handsome and rugged as John Wayne in a gun belt. Hailing from the warm, dry southern US, none of the usual rust issues are a factor here, with solid sheetmetal even above the rear wheels and in the tailgate. The paint is just too nice to be 35 years old, as it's had quality respray not long ago, and the replacement decals are bright and vivid so it's impossible not to get noticed when you're driving this 4x4. Goodies include a chrome grille, custom front bumper with massive brush guard, oversized fender flares, and a swing-away rear tire carrier out back. The net effect is that this is a hardcore backpack that you can drive. Anywhere.
The interior got a thorough makeover recently as well, including a set of bucket seats that hold you in place far better than the slippery, flat original buckets when the going gets rough. The skipped the carpet in favor of spray-on bedliner material, so it's durable, grippy, and easy to maintain, but just in case, a set of heavy-duty rubber floor mats were dropped in place. A custom center locks for security in the open Jeep and there's an updated AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash that feeds a set of big weatherproof speakers on the rear fender wells. All the original gauges are fully functional, and all this Jeep comes with both a removable hard top and steel doors, making it a year-round proposition to drive it.
A 258 cubic inch inline-six runs beautifully and is the seasoned off-roader's first choice in a CJ. Torquey and robust, this is the engine you want pulling through the worst slop Mother Nature can throw at you. Virtually bulletproof, it also has the low-end torque you need and gentle throttle tip-in makes it easy to feel your way through the slippery stuff. There are a lot of new parts, including a new carburetor, air filter housing, wiring, an HEI ignition system, and many other parts, so it runs beautifully. The desirable 5-speed manual shifts well and offers an overdrive gear, again making this Jeep worlds more civilized. It feeds the stock 2-speed transfer case and the stock axles, so it's still reasonably friendly on the pavement, which is obviously where it spent most of its life. The exhaust system is recent as well and includes a new performance muffler out back so it has a bit of a racy sound. The undercarriage it tidy and ready for battle, so you shouldn't be afraid of getting it dirty when you go out to play. The look is finished off with a recent set of shocks, a modest lift kit, and 15-inch Mickey Thompson polished aluminum wheels with giant Firestone off-road tires
With all the upgrades, this awesome Renegade is a lot of fun, both on and off road. These never last long at Streetside, especially when they're built as well as this one. Call today!
