Solid Survivor J-20 Pickup

Price: - Item location: North Kingstown, Rhode Island, United States
Description:

1982 Jeep J20

Low miles, 8,400 lb. GVW. AMC 360 V8, auto trans. Body is original except for donor tailgate and Grand Wagoneer doors that were installed prior to my ownership. Power locks and windows (need lubrication). Solid frame and body, a little rust on both sides of the bed. Bed was removed, frame was cleaned and painted over ten years ago and the truck was painted in the dark blue metallic in 2004. Truck had a plow on it years ago, but all plow gear has been removed. Good solid truck, excellent candidate for resto. I simply don't have the time with two young children at home.
New tires, new front and rear brakes, rebuilt carb, new transmission mount, new water pump, blower motor for HVAC, new interior carpet loosely installed. Needs minor mechanicals, such as leaf spring bushings, shift linkage bushings. Interior needs TLC -- I have a complete new set of three seat belts that are ready to be installed (existing belt buckles are broken), and new lock cylinders for the doors. Runs, drives, goes down the road reasonably well. Hubs are free, but I haven't given the 4WD a good workout since I bought the truck two years ago. Transfer case is free and shifter engages.
Truck runs, drives, and goes down the road reasonably well. Leaf spring bushings and a front end alignment would make freeway driving a little more tolerable. 8,400lb GVW was the highest rating available in the J20 -- this truck likes to be loaded and will handle a substantial amount of weight.
Truck is registered as an antique in RI and will be sold with a current RI registration and Bill of Sale only. RI does not title vehicles older than ten years.
