Description:
1976 Jeep CJ
Hello, I have an excellent 1976 first year CJ7 for sale. Boy, it took me years before I found this gem. I have owned it for a few years now, and it still amazes me how spectacular the condition of the body is. It is very tough to nearly impossible to find one like this anymore - unless of course it has been restored. I have only ever found one other original this nice and I have it, too (a 1984 Jeep CJ7 Laredo). It is hard to believe a 1976 Jeep stayed this nice. Paint is original and shiny and the tub is excellent. Paint has its little scratches and nicks but overall very nice and excellent looking. The original driver and passenger side chrome bottom trim pieces are in excellent shape and not dented up. No holes in the floors and even has original paint on the floors with just surface rust. The nice round holes you see in the floors are the original drain holes. I believe it even has the original windshield, or a very old replacement, since you can notice a little fogging at the bottom of it due to age. Looks like paint over spray, but is actually inside the windshield. The Jeep was owned previously by an older couple. Was garaged. Still even has the original AM radio in it. The padded dash is not even cracked. The metal dash has never been cut. Newer radio is mounted under the dash, so nothing got cut up. Original seats are very comfortable. Two front seats have vinyl splitting on the seat bottoms with good foam and really no wear on the seat backs. It is powered by an excellent running inline 258 straight six. The clutch is strong and it has a super tight and good shifting 3 speed manual transmission. It has Warn lockouts on the front axle. The Jeep drives excellent and runs great. The drivetrain is tight and the 4x4 works great. This Jeep was not abused or modified and was well maintained. The engine was rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago. It still wears its original hard top and doors. Hard top is fiberglass and in fantastic shape with no cracks. The back lift hatch, which encases the rear window, is metal with some rust. You can see behind the rear wheel, on the passenger side, the bolts that held the factory side mount spare. The side mounted spare was removed to add a more clearance friendly rear swing away tire carrier. The Jeep sports white spoke rims with nice 31" tires. If you have any questions, please call me at 406-317-2416. If you have 0 to 5 feedback, please call mefirst soyour bid does not getcancelled. Many times peoplebid and never follow through. It is for sale locally, so if it sells the auction will be ended. Thank you very much.Vehicle Details:
