Description:
1971 Jeep CJ
I bought this a few months ago to work on as a project and I lost my space to work and I don't want to leave it in Tahoe for the winter. I don't have any history on the jeep since it was bought at auction by the last guy. I have been driving it around Tahoe and it is running and driving great. Is currently registered in CA.Particulars:
225 Dauntless V6
Holly 4412 w/manual choke
Autoline HEI distributer Pertronix coil
MSD plug wires
T-18 4 speed transmission
Dana 44 rear
Wildcat 31X10.5 tires with lots of tread.
OME brakes, steering
The Good:
Engine and drivetrain are in great condition. New U joints and drivetrain components.
Engine runs very strong and has brand new exhaust (duel out each side w/Dynomax Mufflers) out original manifolds.
HEI distributor and coil are brand new.
New speedometer and separate gauges
New Wiper motor and blades
Windshield is very recent
Driver rear wheel well was cut and re-welded and seat moved back and down so that anyone over 5'7" will feel much morecomfortable driving it (I'm 6'3")
New front fenders and headlights. Hood is not very old either
Brand new bikini top
The Bad:
No Horn
No heater (like zero heating pieces)
Body tub, though serviceable, is a little tired
Oddly placed gauges in new dash, interferes with the windshield latch.
No emergency brake (though there is the handle)
The Ugly:
The jeep looks like it was recently wired by a third grader. There are new wires, old wires, weirdly colored wires (going intoelectrical tape one color come out another). None of the new gauges are wired. All the lights, turn signals etc. work. So things are working, but it is a mess. I was going to re-wire it this winter.
