1975 Jeep CJ CJ5

For Sale 1975 Jeep CJ5 6 cylinder, 3 speed, 4x4

This Jeep has had a Frame Off Restoration and has been driven only 697 miles since completed.

I'm offering a VERY NICE 1975 Jeep CJ5 for sale. I recently purchased this vehicle at an estate auction with intentions of using as a toy... as life has it, plans have changed.
This Jeep was a frame off restoration project that was done with no expenses spared... I was told the previous owner/restorer spent over $14k on the restoration. LOTS OF NEW PARTS! New steel body tub, along with other body panels. New gauges, Painless wiring, KC lights, "Best Top" bikini top, full top (NO DOORS), Kenwood stereo, Crown fender flairs, Eagle aluminum wheels, Super Swamper 31x10.5x15R15LT TrXus M/T radial tires, Thrush dual exhaust, Offenhauser intake, Holley 4 barrel carb, Headman header, vinyl seat covers, fuel tank, chrome bumpers, chrome mirrors... and I'm sure much more that I'm missing.
The paint color is a SUPER bright yellow. The body and frame is really, really nice. With that being said, this was an amateur restoration and does have a few flaws, i.e. chips and scratches. Most of the restoration I believe was mostly cosmetic, with some attention to the drivetrain like brakes, bushings, shocks, etc.
The Jeep has a in-line 6-cylinder engine with a 3-speed manual transmission and lock out hubs. I don't think the engine, trans, or differentials were really touched, but not for sure. This little Jeep runs like a V8. It is super spunky for a 6-cylinder engine... and with the dual exhaust and the header it even sounds like a V8. The Jeep drives smooth down the road; one hand on the wheel straight as an arrow, no wondering around or jumping around when you hit bumps. it does ride like a Jeep though not a Cadillac.
I've driven the Jeep close to a 100 miles, and the only problem I have found with this Jeep is that it jumps out of reverse when under power (letting the clutch out). It will stay in reverse if you hold the shifter in place. I've looked on several Jeep sites and seen that most likely the problem is a broken detent spring? And they all seem to say it's not a hard fix. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't know. I'm not saying this is or isn't the problem. I'm just letting you know there is some sort of problem.
This is a GREAT little Jeep with no rust issues.... the body is new; the frame is clean and painted.
I'm selling this Jeep at a LOW reserve, about half of what it cost to build... so bid to win!
