Hello everybody if you're looking for a mechanically good, reliable, good-looking classic Jeep CJ-7 renegade with lots of special features you've come to the right place.
I am offering a 1986 American motors Jeep CJ7 renegade 258 six cylinder, T5 5 speed, PS PB AM/FM tilt wheel odometer shows 39k. May have gone around but car fax shows low miles to 2001. Dealer mistakenly added 100,000 miles to 2008 title. I bought TMU. Well sorted out reliable and good running this could even be your daily driver. You can even drive down the highway in fifth gear without the vehicle bogging down. Inspection in my state is good till January 2017.
This vehicle is loaded with special features which make it enjoyable and unique, this vehicle features:
Weber 32/36 conversion which makes this vehicle drive almost as well as fuel injection it starts right up drives very smoothly has great throttle response better gas mileage and has that Quadrajet sound when you floor it and the secondary starts to open. Much much better than the stock Carter one barrel or two barrel. K&N air filter.
Renegade package including unique and hard-to-find features including the rare AM/FM AMC radio, tilt wheel, sport steering wheel, dash applique, high-back sports seats, carpeting, fold and tumble rear seat, door panels and hard top. More about the renegade options a little later.
Rare Garnet metallic clear-coat paint: in the past this vehicle was gone through all the rust filled and painted it's original color and re-striped.
Check the pictures carefully because as you can see there is some rusty spots starting to bubble through the paint.
The frame on this vehicle is very solid and looks like it was rustproofed shortly after purchase also I believe that this vehicle spent most of its time in the west before going to Ohio and New Jersey later on in it's life I personally have kept it garaged the last seven years. I replaced the oxygen sensor, the EGR valve, the vacuum accumulator and most of the old rotten vacuum hoses so that the emission system would work properly, the vehicle would start properly and would give you the power it's supposed to and still pass emissions in emission testing states.
Needless to say most of the belts, fluids and hoses are new and changed regularly.
I also have a bunch of CJ-7 accessories which are available separately and I might throw them in if this vehicle sells for a good price. I have an additional Cowl seal, front and rear brake pads and all brake hardware, valve cover gasket, k&N filter renewal kit, front and rear differential cover gaskets and new redline fluids, front hub gaskets and Laredo chrome rear bumperettes, original jack and lug wrench with mounting hardware, trailer hitch, a Laredo tach, a new gas gauge and lots more.
The renegade package adds a lot of features to the standard jeep and includes a larger gas tank a larger number of leaf springs. This vehicle has the heavy duty cooling system with a six bladed fan, fan clutch and fan shroud, lighting for the rear storage area. I also believe that this vehicle has a posi in the rear since both rear tires spin at the same time in any slippery situation.
