Let me tell you about my cj7. This was the last year of the cj7 models. I have done the following to it and replaced the following.Newu joints, water pump, aluminum radiator, electric fan, hoses, belts, speedo cluster, fuel pump, new door locks, sony cd stereo, slave cylinder, new front seats, brakes, front bumper, tie rod ends, clutch and pressure plate, I have replaced the computer and the old crappycarburetorwith a Holley 1bbl, all the wiring has been detached and re-connected properly. This has electronic ignition not points. The transfer case and transmission have been re-sealed and both axles have been serviced. This includes a locking metal console and farm jack. The speedo had 86,000 miles on it when replaced. I have put 3000 miles on it since. The doors were replaced a couple of months ago with the two blue ones seen. These are in excellent condition with no stress cracks. I replaced all the window channel and trim in both doors with new materials. The hard top has a sunroof that was in bad shape. I simply seamed in a piece ofPlexiglasto the frame and cannot seem to get it to seal perfectly no matter what I do. Thetransmissionis a four speed with a new clutch and pressure plate. The downside of this jeep is that the engine may have been replaced at some time. It has a 4cyl 150 and had varying compression on each cylinder from 95 to 105 psi when I checked it awhile back. Runs great in town but slow up hills and on the freeway. No A/C, never was. All the smog crap has been removed. The tires are 31s BF Goodrich All Terrain with at least 50% tread. Beginning to crack with age. Good Spare tire. The body has a little cancer and took a hit at some time to the rear driver side quarter at the bumper. See pics. The front bumper is a heavy duty replacement with extra room for a winch. The top is fully fiberglass and in good shape painted with bed liner material. Comes with a bikini top also. I have never been able to get the temp gauge to work on this jeep. Even with the new cluster. All the dash lights have been replaced with LED bulbs. There will be some imperfections to this jeep that are not mentioned. It is after all a 1986 model. If you choose to purchase it, you will have a slow drive home. I would not be scared to take this jeep from Arizona to Maine. It would just take awhile. This is a daily driver and I maintain it well.
