Description:

1981 Jaguar XJ6

This is a beautiful car that I hate to get rid of, but someone else needs to finish it off. It’s my daily driver, mostly around town. Has a Chevrolet LT1 350 engine with a Turbo 400 transmission. Engine runs great, but has a small radiator leak. The car is a typical unrestored jag in that it has the rust spots around the corners of the windows (with a bad, but effective, repair job), suspension needs work, paint is chipped in places, and the usual electric gremlins (thanks, Lucas Electric). The dual gas tanks could likely be set up to work, but the fuel pump was not strong enough, so I set up a basic 15 gallon tank and bolted it in the trunk. Consequently, the fuel gauge doesn’t work (it did for a while with the new tank), the temp gauge also needs to be properly hooked up. No. cruise or AC (both of those could also be added). There’s a handful of small things to be done, but if the suspension is redone (it still rides super smooth, it’s just shaky going hard around corners), and those minor things fixed, it will be an amazing car. I get scores of compliments on it, as it sits. The 350 also gives it actual power with about the same gas mileage as Jag’s gutless and overly complicated 6 cylinder.
