Description:

1985 Jaguar XJ6

This 1985 Jaguar 4.2 Vanden Plas -XJ6 in the US (the XJ6 was badged the 4.2 in Europe) was imported from Europe in 1985 by Emmy award winning choreographer Tony Charmoli. He had the car until 2017 when he passed it on to his niece and her husband, who meticulously cared for it until they sold it to me just recently. All service records from 2017 onward are with the vehicle, along with a scanned copy of the niece/nephew’s title.
It's all original with 61K miles on the 4.2 L inline 6 and automatic transmission. It still has the European (larger) headlights, smaller profile bumpers (less rubber sticking out front and rear), and the polished alloy Kent wheels. The interior is slightly different as well, most notably it does not have the trip computer. Overall condition is very good to excellent; the paint is in excellent condition, the interior is very good but has seen some use and years; the leather seats are dry and the stitching is coming undone in a few spots, but the dash pad has not cracked yet (the vents are coming loose though), the wood dash has just a few small cracks starting to appear- but it’s in relatively excellent shape, and the headliner is in excellent condition. The exterior has a few scratch repairs, and there’s a few door dings along both sides of the car, and some paint cracking around the door locks. There’s also a couple of very small bubbles of paint (ie; rust) forming at the corners of the front and rear windows. It’s in excellent running condition with no leaks, but the catalytic converter has a bit of a rattle. It’s originally a California car, and it had to pass emissions in LA, so it’s been regularly tuned to burn fuel efficiently and cleanly, resulting in a finely running car. It comes with new Michelin tires, a new battery, and a new stereo that can pair with your phone.
This is a very rare Jaguar imported from Europe with very low miles. It’s not in perfect condition, but it has a nice interior, it runs well, and has no electrical or mechanical issues. It has an interesting history and pedigree with ties to Hollywood. Series 3 XJ’s are becoming desirable classics with beautiful lines and styling. They’re also becoming a popular choice for EV conversions (search Teslaur), but you may want to keep this one all-original due to the low miles and strong running engine.

Please be advised that the VIN is SAJJCALP4CC412249. Because it's a European import, the VIN doesn't doesn't show up in ebay's database, so I entered the VIN for my other 1985 Jag.
