1972 Jaguar E-Type Leather
This Jaguar is in excellent condition for it's age. It is quite an incredibly preserved vehicle and belongs in a museum. My father purchased it in 1974 and it has ALWAYS been garaged and pampered.
I recently took it to a very reputable local Jaguar technician in order to bring it back to life. I spent $20k over the last year on the fuel system, cooling system, brakes, belts, etc. I have receipts available upon request. They did an excellent job in paying attention to the needs of the vehicle. The entire process took over a year and now the car purrs!
I also have the original purchase invoice (from 50 years ago) and title upon request.
It starts immediately and runs like a champ with no mechanical issues. It actually amazes me how well it drives for a 50 year old vehicle.
If you have any questions then feel free to ask. I also encourage an inspection of the car prior to bids/purchase although I doubt you will be disappointed.
The Jaguar is a fine specimen of a well preserved car. It displays the original chrome and rubber moldings and the interior is untouched (headliner needs replaced). It would not take much more work to make it an incredible trophy showpiece and is already certainly ready for weekend or daily driver. All components are 100% original except for the clutch.
Additional notes:
- It appears that at some point in time the bonnet was resprayed. Not sure when or why but underneath shows no evidence. My father bought this car when I was 4 years old and I have zero recollection of any paintwork.
-Tires are old and will need to be replaced.
The asking price is firm. The car was professionally appraised a few months ago for $59750.00. I have all documentation. If you are seriously interested then please view the vehicle or get an inspection. If you commit to purchasing the Jaguar and the independent inspection fails then I will reimburse you the cost.
