This car presented today is an extreamly well preserved older body up total restoration with less than 3,000 miles since completion in 2002. The one owner rust free car body was stripped to bare metal and repainted in correct Glasurit Jaguar silver metallic. All rust free body panels were the originals and the fit and finish is near perfectwithoutany scratches or door dings. There was absolutelyno accidentor major rust, only a few tiny areas around the rear fenders. The matching numbers head andengineblock were totally rebuilt with new pistons, valves, springs, bearings, tensioner, uprated rear seal, water pump, electronic ignition, oil pump, rotating assembly rebalance, refaced flywheel and new clutch assembly. The current compression is reading 150 PSI consistently on all 6 cylinders. The original radiator was re-cored with a high cooling capacity copper core keeping the original top and bottom tank with original ID tag and no auxiliaryfan needed. The car was fitted with a great sounding big bore sports exhaust system and also fitted with uprated front disc brake system then the entire brake system, dual master cylinder and brake lines and rubber hoses were replaced. All ball joints, tie rods and shock absorbers were replaced. New Dayton stainless steel wire wheels with Bridgestone tires were fitted. There was a complete new wiring harness installed using the original gauges that were rebuilt by Nisonger. The all original bumpers, windshield frame, rear tail bezels, grille and other chrome parts were re-plated. The Navy Blue interior (bright sun makes it look lighter than it is) leather kit by GW Bartlett (OSJI) was installed with a uprated HARTZ navy blue canvas top. The top bow assembly was sand blasted and painted the correct green/gray color as were the seat frames. The top is currently removed to gain an additional 2” of leg room and will be re-installed and comes with the car. The car was shown at several Jaguar concour events and received 98.9 points. The car took several Jaguar event first placetrophies. We purchased the car in 2009 after the owner moved from New York to Florida when he lost his heated garage space. The car was stored in our climate controlled facility every winters since restoration over the winters and then after purchase the car and tucked it away in our toy box. The car went to a few car shows but mostly sat here. Anticipatingthis sale we went through the car and changed the fuel, oil/filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, installed a new battery, and the rear brake cylinders were also rebuilt since they were not releasingproperly. The car runs perfectly and all devices work as original. The car drives straight, stops without and drama as front drum brakes has and drives smooth up into the 80 MPH range. This car is ready for a new home. This car is sold with a clear New York properly signed off registration (title). This car is being sold as-is without any warranty or returns accepted as usual. The deposit is non-refundable if the buyer fails to complete the purchase. We can ship this car worldwide or the new owner can pick it up at our shop. You are welcome to come to my shop if you want to look at it in person, look me up at catzauto.com.
