68 Daimler Sovereign (Jaguar 420 running gear). See description for details.
1968 Jaguar 420
You'll feel like James Bond behind the wheel of this very classic car. Purchased from CA a number of years ago, I got started on bringing this car up to daily driver status. However, I encountered some health issues that make it impossible physically and financially to make that happen.
Interior is basically new. Invested in bringing the fuel delivery system and carbs to working order. Balanced the carbs, installed a Pertronix distributor, new plugs, etc. and found the car to be pretty spirited. Take a moment to look at the documentation included in the photos to understand its capabilities.
Daimler (UK) was started with a license to use an engine by Gottlieb Daimler. From the turn of the 21st century, Daimler was a leading manufacturer and innovator in Coventry. The royals typically used Daimler motor cars for their processional and personal use until there were some problems between the royals and the Chairman of Daimler--principally the chairman's wife. Royal patronage passed to Rolls Royce and the declining Daimler badge was sold to Jaguar. At the time of this car's manufacture, the Daimler badge signified an upgraded interior and body trims but the running gear was all Jaguar. This car is essentially a Jaguar 420 with running gear nearly identical to the Jag XKE.
First sold in '68 in Leeds, UK. Then shipped to Victoria BC, and later made its way to CA. Certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. Includes Jaguar 420 Service Manual. Many spares in the boot along with sales brochures, and other misc. documentation.
