Thank you for taking the time to look at my lovely Jaguar. I’ve had this Jaguar for about three years and loved every minute (almost). Alas I really don’t use it to much as I have another two vintage cars so it’s time to pass it on to a new owner.
Good points -
mechanical - very reliable, super smooth engine and transmission, reconditioned fuel system including tanks, aluminum radiator with electric fans. Fully serviced including new distributor car, plugs and plug wires.
Interior- Fully electric leather front seats from an Aston Martin DB7 which gives an extra couple of inches head room, seat covers, new carpets, blaupunkt stereo, electric aerial that works, wood center with wood gear shifter. Headliner in exceptional condition.
Exterior- repaint several years ago and looks good,
Lots of tire tread, wheels from a later XJS, 20% carbon ceramic window tint, stainless B post trims from an earlier XJS. Chrome in excellent condition. Really solid car. Arches all good etc.
Bad points -
mechanical- header tank has a small pinhole at the top, small oil leak from rear of engine, AC blows only slightly cooler air. Had a good used compressor, new receiver drier and expansion valve. May need a proper flush and recharge, one heater fan squeaks a bit.
Interior- back seat has seen better days. Cruise control disconnected by previous owner. Usual wear on front seats commensurate with age.
Exterior - odd dings and dents here and there. Paint is really nice but not show quality. Minor rust on front of the rocker panel and maybe in a couple of other small spots.
I’ve tried to list this as honestly as possible which probably makes it sound like a basket case. However it’s a really great car from an honest seller. Needs some odds and ends doing but that would be the same for ANY vintage car unless crazy money. Ready to drive away.
Looks beautiful in a great color combination. Jaguar just don’t do this style or elegance anymore.
