1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1

This is a 1967 Jaguar XKE Roadster that has been extensively restored and comes with a detailed ownership and restoration history. According to the previous owner, on June 24, 1976 his soon to be wife purchased this car in Syracuse N.Y., from a police officer named George Bush. The car was burgundy in color, had 32k miles and was serviced and painted at a shop called Midtown Auto. He believes that George was the owner for a little over 2 years. Him and his wife drove the car during the summer months and stored it in winters. He did some minor from the purchase date to the late 70s. In 1980 at 52k miles He sent the monocoque out to have the rust repairs done. The floors and trunk floor were repaired at a shop called Spectrum Auto Body in Peekskill N.Y.. The final refinishing was done at his shop, Carz Body and Performance, in Mahopac N.Y. where the color was changed to black. At the same time the engine was rebuilt (.030 over bore), suspension, and brakes were also serviced. From 1981 to 2009 the car was used and enjoyed. In 2009 the car was completely dismantled, the engine and transmission only had 22k so they got a tear down and reseal. Cylinder head got a decarbonizing, valve lapping and cam bearings replaced. Original calipers were re-sleeved by White Post Restorations. The rest of the hydraulics are new, including the clutch master and slave. The front and rear suspension bushings, mounts and fasteners are all new. The final drive unit was completely rebuilt. As far as the electrical system: the gauges were all dismantled inspected cleaned and resealed. Same with all switches, motors, relays and harnesses which were rewrapped in cloth tape. Everything works even the clock. As far as the rust repair, all replacement panels were manufactured by Martin Robey they include: R&L radius arm mounts, R&L lower quarter panels, boot floor, R&L outer sills, R&L door skins, R&L F&R inner sill supports, all 4 bulkhead to frame mounts, R&L heel wells, and left floor. The entire car was brought to bare metal inside and out etched and epoxy primed prior to the panels being welded. This process will delay any corrosion. No plastic filler was used only a product called All Metal was used on seams and repairs. The finish is PPG Concept single stage urethane enamel mix to factory color Pale Primrose (original color). During the refinishing each panel was painted separately including the bonnet parts. The wheel wells and underside have a final finish of two part epoxy bed liner, extremely durable and cleans easily. The original chrome wasn't that bad, but he had done everything else so..... Most of the exterior chrome was re-plated at Space Coast Plating or replaced, about 20% is still original. Also 5 new Dayton wheels, spinners, and Vredestien tires were fitted. When it comes to the interior there is only one source that provides the closest to original as possible and that is British Auto Specialists. He installed their major kit with a canvas top (minor change from original). He also made a few drivability changes over the years, which are: Lumenition electronic ignition which retains the factory distributor. High volume cooling fan and Ideal hose clamps. Weyland Ram-Flo air filters, Koni shocks, and stainless exhaust. For more information, please call 631-318-7052.
