Description:

1988 Jaguar XJS

I have been working on this car for 2 years now and just do not have the time to finish it and I hate seeing it sit.I now have 2 infants and am in the process of renovating a house so I have decided to sell the car to someone that will finish it and enjoy it.The drivetrain is installed and bolted in place already.

Here are the details

Engine is a 1993 9C1 police option 350TBI with a 700R4. I bought the whole donor car so I got to drive it and do all my testing before I pulled the drivetrain. I have installed brand new roller lifters, Elgin Cam, Melling oil pump, new timing chain and gears, all new oil seals, new valve seals, new water pump, power steering pump.Brand new shorty headers. I've adapted original Jaguar water temp and oil pressure sending units to the Chevy engine for accurate readings. 195 fan trigger is also mounted. I removed the external oil cooler adapter but its included if someone wanted to put it back on. I bought a PFI standalone ECU and harness for it. It's a 5 sensor ECU that is easy to install and tune. I also have the entire original harness from the donor car with ECU. Stock Engine was 200Hp/300ft lbs of Torque, with headers, cam and exhaust, this setup has dynoed 235hp/360ftlbs. This year XJS has the speedo sensor in the diff and is completely independent of the engine so that will work and be correct

700R4 Trans has a Transgo shift kit and new torque converter, filter and seals installed.

Entire rear subframe of car was rebuilt. New calipers, new rotors, new service and parking brake pads. New mounts and bearings and seals and u joints.

New shocks all around, have brand new master cylinder to go with car as well as new front brake lines

Rebuilt steering rack with new tie rod ends.

Brand new F body LS cooling package, (high flow radiator, AC condenser and twin electric cooling fans with harness.)

Fuel tank was removed and cleaned and repainted. Instead of regulating down the original fuel pump, I installed a new Airtex pump that is designed for TBI. All it needs is the relay trigger wire run from the ECU as it is mounted in the trunk where the original JAG pump and wiring is.

Interior of the car is in great shape besides the head liner. No cracks on dash, rear seats look brand new and front seats and not torn or ripped anywhere. It was always garaged.Body is a 7/10. Roof is faded, rest of car polishes up very nicely. Sunroof works and does not leak. I bought from 2nd owner who had it for almost all its life. He did admit to a low speed contact with a tree on ice with the left front wheel. He said they replaced the shock and ball joints and repaired the original fender. All light lenses are in good condition, all trim is present. Great looking rust free example. I have a box of new bushings and ball joints for the front as well as spare passenger window regulator and motor. New Master Cylinder as well as new seatbelts

I have over 12k invested in this project and its honestly only a few weekends of work away from being firing up. My reserve is well below that amount. The starter circuit is already wired. I have NOT cut any of the original wiring on the car so its all still there. I've done my best to reuse original wiring or just run independent. I was building it to be a cruiser not a power monster, gearing should allow 75mph in OD at around 1600rpm.I have a set of 18" XJR wheels that are in very condition. These can be purchased at an additional cost. I will include all the original Jaguar spares as well, there is about $1000 worth of electronic modules that are not needed. And if there's someone out there with a good V12 in a rusted out or wrecked body, this would be a great buy as I said, I've not cut anything yet so a V12 will happily go back in and you can sell the drivetrain in it for $750 to $1000

There are boxes and boxes of extra parts to go with it. Car is able to roll and steer onto a trailer in current condition. I'm available all week for inspections. Please feel free to ask any questions or for specific photos.
