Help a boy finish college! This car was given to my son by his mother to sell with the proceeds to be used towards completion of his elementary teaching credential.
Very pretty, low miles, strong running 1990 (Date of manufacture:11/89) Jaguar 5.3 V12 XJS.Original leather and carpets, factory cassette radio, power windows and top.One high quality respray in the original color done in approximately 2012 along with new stayfast convertible top, new headliner, new rear shocks, and rebuilt steering rack, installed at that time.(car has since been driven very few miles, and stored indoors under a cover) Clear California title in my son's name, recently passed CA smog.Motor starts easily, idles and runs smoothly and quietly.Powerful.Three speed automatic shifts smoothly and sedately under normal conditions, but kicks down when throttle is floored resulting in impressive acceleration.Straight body with no rust.Nice base coat clear coat paint job.Clean trunk with tools included.
All of that being said, it's a 28 year old British car and not perfect and priced accordingly. I hope to disclose negative issues to prospective bidders to avoid any unpleasant surprises.So... the ABS light goes off after the car has started as it should, but comes back on once the car is moving.Brakes do seem to work just fine though.The original leather on the seats is in decent shape, but some of the stitching needs to be redone (see pictures)and the piping on the left side seat bolster is worn.The AC is charged with 134 (and ester oil) and blows cold, but the automatic climate control isn't working.Heater works just fine. Oh, and the tires; despite good tread and matching size, are not matching brands.OK for cruising around town, but if you want to use the car to its' potential, they should probably be replaced.I don't think this is a project car, as it runs fine and is very presentable and can certainly be enjoyed as it is, but attending to the things above would take it to the next level.

A couple of updates. One potential bidder asked about whether the top mechanism works, so I went out put it down, then up again. Top functions as it should, as do rear windows. Also, there was a question about a lien on the title. This has been resolved and we have clear, clean title in my son's name. CA emissions passed last week.
I think because of the low opening bid and no reserve, I've had several attractive offers to buy the car before the end of the auction. Although it's technically allowable to end early and sell to the high bidder, to be fair to people who have bid in good faith, we will continue to the end of the auction. The car will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction.
