Fantastic driving xjc XJ6 two door coupe. New AC compressor, upgraded to Euro spec su carbs - no strombergs! Car starts well, super smooth and peppy. All fuel system components replaced, new transmission seals - $1100 cost. New tires on xk8 rims - no alignment or wear problems. Has upgraded series three head about 5k miles ago.
Driven daily during the last year to sort out - you know that restoration projects or rarely driven cars can have many problems lurking - none hear to report! Car can drive anywhere in any weather. I commuted 60 miles with it through 2 summers in 104 plus heat - never over heated in highway or city driving - with AC on. Great chrome and rubber on bumpers
Headlights, tail lights, turn signals, horn, wiper, gauges, all work. AC and heat work with two fan settings and compressor and heater valve have been made to work with a toggle switch and cable. Some purists will cry about this, but if your like me and see how infinitely complicated and costly, and even then often unreliable the climate control system can be, you might be relieved to see the simplified bypass,
If you are new to Jaguars, visit on line forums for info about common quirks and solutions for these cars. You will find they are quite straight forward to address when necessary and parts are on par with other classics. If you have followed or owned Jaguars then you will be aware of some of the quirks that can occur, but in this case none effect daily driving.
