1991 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible "Collection Classic", Extremely Low Miles
1991 Jaguar XJS Convertible
The Jaguar Heritage is rich in theXJ-S with its long, low hood & sleek silhouette. Signal Red paint w/ crèmeConnolly leather seats trimmed in red piping. Power seats w/ Variable lumbar supports & heat. Burl Elm graces the dash of the cockpit. Electric mirrors are also heated. The last year for the V-12 motoron the classic style XJ-S & why it is called the "Collection Classic".Only two owners in this car's 27 year history & I have been the owner forthe last 25-12 years. Only 29,101 original miles with service paperwork throughthe years to verify. Always stored in climate controlled garages & rarelyseeing the sun that this convertible craves. This elegant, head turning carseems to bring joy to bystanders from kids to adults offering up waves &smiles.
The thickly padded, hand tailored top looks brand new & has a real heated glass rear window. All the electronics & Hydraulics work perfectly. Well lit carpeted luggage compartment (trunk) also houses a full size original spare tire/wheel combo. Polishes Stainless Steel door sills, Cruise Control, All Original Everything
The 5.3 liter V-12 delivers power& smoothness. It is as responsive as it was on day 1. 263 HP @5,350 RPM & 290 ft. lbs of torque. Tap the gas pedal at 80MPH & feel your head pull back.
Aluminum Alloy Spoke wheelsFlaws: While this car is in AMAZING shape for its age there are some items that can use attention. Here are any flaws that I can think of. My mechanic tells me that I am not doing the car any favors by not driving it. With time seals start to dry out. The AC no longer holds a charge for very long. There are slow oil drips from rear differential & motor (not enough to have to add oil but enough to keep cardboard underneath. Nothing a few seal or gasket replacements wont take care of. The engine hood has gas shocks to hold hood open that need replacing. There is a slight tear of about 3/4" in the convertible top headliner. It is a very light colored felt & looks faded & discolored anyway. It looks to be installed with simple rivets & easy to replace. Drivers side leather seat shows some wear but has no tears or major imperfections.
The emergency brake sticks & needs adjustment & the fuel gauge doesn't always work. However, The Motor, Trans, Body, Convertible Top, Electronics all work like new. I recently replaced the two front calipers, Master cylinder & ABS unit. All & all these are minor items for a car of this age & will not take much to fix. I have enjoyed this car with these few issues for years.
Let me know if there are any additional or closeup pictures you would like me to take.
