Well running 1984 Jaguar XJS Coupe. Left hand drive US spec car.
The car is a nice driver but is nowhere near show condition. It is rust free and solid and has been well maintained from new. The car has a Pertronix ignition and starts and runs very well.
The battery has a kill switch to protect it from draining while sitting.
The battery is new and the car has under 1000 miles on its last oil change done in January with Castrol GTX motor oil.
Cosmetically the car is original with original paint and trim. The paint has lots of minor blemishes and an area on the roof where it looks to have received paint damage in one spot and was touched up. There are no dents elsewhere on the roof or car.
The door gap and panel fit is very good. The glass is all original and also very good. The wipers and all lights work. The bumpers and grill are original and in very good condition as well. The biggest cosmetic issue is small holes in the trunk lid to accommodate a center braking lights (a common upgrade to cars built just prior to 1986 when they became federally mandated).
The interior is excellent original with nice leather and good door panels. The dash is also excellent. All of the gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge. The steering is crisp and the braking is strong.
The engine is the original V-12 installed at the factory. It is mated to its original automatic transmission. The engine starts instantly and the car shifts smoothly.
The floors are solid original and have no rust or accident damage/repairs.
The tires are good with excellent tread. The car needs nothing to be enjoyed as a Sunday cruiser but if planning on showing, it will need significant cosmetic work as you can see from the pictures. It has its original owners manual and books.
