1971 Jaguar E-Type XKE RoadsterThis 1971 Jaguar XKE Roadster has been owned by the same caring owner since 1979 and has just 59k original miles. The previous owner purchased the car in 1979 in Arizona where it's been garaged and driven sparingly until his recent passing. This Series II was just serviced including work on the carburetors, clean & regap spark plugs with compression check, oil/filter service, lube chassis & check all fluids, check brakes, check suspension, & clutch hydraulics, inspect driveline & exhaust as well as replace the fuel tank including gaskets/seal, filters, and filler hose. The Jaguar specialist that did the service was an independent service center and reported "the car drives and performs quite nicely". Itis powered by the original numbers matching 4.2L straight six cylinder engine with dual Zenith Stromberg carbs and manual 4-speed gearbox. It has ZERO rust having been from a dry climate and is largely original aside from the bonnet which is a series 3 variant, installed prior to 1979. The car was repainted prior to 1979 in the Arizona Copper color as shown and presents well for it's age. There are some normal paint chips and very minor dings but no major dents or damage. We were told the original owner commissioned this color since it was not available as a factory color. The convertible top is clean and is complete with the boot and other misc items. This XKE has the 72-spoke chrome wire wheels with Michelin Redline tires that have excellent tread remaining. The black interior shows very nicely with no tears or other unsightly blemishes. The dash and switchgear are solid, showing no chips, cracks, or notable wear. Overall, this is a very straight 1971 Jaguar XKE Roadster and runs very nice.
