Now, hat being said... The 1967 International Scout 800 project listed here, s by far the nicest restoration we have ever seen. The attention to detail and the time spent (not to mention the cost) of finding NOS and OEM stock to make sure that EVERYTHING done on this restoration would be THE BEST! In essence, hen finished, his IH Scout 800 WILL be better than the day it came out of the factory. Literally, he bolts all have IH emblems on them and they are all facing in the same direction. That is just how meticulous the attention to detail has been.
This is a International Scout 800 project. NOT assembled. Everything is complete with the exception of the body work and painting and reassembly. This is a rust free Scout. Only surface rust in places. This tub is rare enough to find without rust and is in exceptionally good condition.
I will proceed with a description in detail here shortly and then after that will follow about 94 pictures close up of everything listed.
I do not want to go into detail as to the reasons I am having to sell this when I am so close. We will suffice it to say, am unable to complete it. I will tell you upfront this is not cheap, ly-by-night workmanship and we are not going to be giving away this project. We have been to International shows...we have seen the prize winning restorations...This does beat them all.
"Please understand this, VERY, nd I mean EVERY, ut, olt, eal, earing, ushing, ubing, very single part has been redone or is NOS or brand new. All bolts - 99% anyway are IH bolts with IH markings - Extreme importance was put on rebuilding a factory truck or BETTER! This with only one exception - the custom seat upholstery. The seat frame, isor frames and door panel framing, verything is still IH, ut the actual material it was recovered with is custom. Professionally reupholstered as well. In the pictures you may notice what looks like a little tear or cut in fabric on the door panels. That is not a problem. It is where the upholsterer put small cuts in order to install the door handles and window handles without tearing the fabric.
EVERYTHING is done except the body! The body came from the Mojave Desert in order to find a rust free tub. The body tub, oors, enders...need to be stripped (soda blasted, alnut blasted...) and painted. The quality of the paint, nd the person doing the final step of painting this Scout, ill determine if it will be "THE BEST". But rest assured all work to this point has been "Top Notch".
Anyone who is seriously considering this purchase...is welcome to come here and look at the workmanship themselves.
This is essentially a new Scout 800 down to the fan belts, uts and bolts!

1967 International Scout 800 Cab Top - Cab top is completely done! It has been professionally painted with the correct factory color. It was done by a professional Classic Car Specialist. It is Mint, ompletely flawless and absolutely beautiful inside and out!
FRAME
Entire frame, ngine and drive train are in MINT condition NOS, EM, ACTORY CORRECT parts and installation (even down to the hose clamps!)
Frame is completely rust free. It has been stripped, etal prepped and finished with a product called Por-15. This frame was NOT rusty and did not have rust damage to begin with! That being said, e did not want to have spent so much time and money into this restoration and then have it rust once it was on the road...thus we put POR-15 down as a hard finish, ust preventative measure. It will not chip, rack or peel or rust once cured. This has fully cured. The POR-15 product dries to a semi-glass finish that has a slight grit feel to it. You can see it in the pictures. It is NOT a BAD paint job...it is the nature of the POR-15. Part of what gives it it's strength. (POR-15 is a high-tech, igh performance rust-preventive coating designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal surfaces. It dries to an incredible rock-hard, on-porous finish that won't chip, rack, r peel, nd it prevents rust from recurring by protecting metal from further exposure to moisture.)

The International 266 V8 Engine was been professionally rebuilt 100%. It is the first year that International offered the V8 option and it was especially rare to find one in 1967 model. It was an option, ot all were V8's. This engine is completely new, ebuilt by Central Machine Shop in Columbus, E.

The original tub had rust on the bed and no tail gate. It was not nearly as good as this tub. We did not want any repairs of bondo or putty. The ONLY good tub we could find with NO rust was from the Mojave Desert where even the barbed wire doesn't even rust. We chose to buy it and use it. NO RUST CANCER IN THIS TUB!!!! But, es there is a but...the tub itself (that only) is actually from a 1968 Scout.
