This is a rare truck so here’s what it is. A real scout 2 half cab. (Not a clone or a Scout Terra) only about 3% of scouts were ever built this way. The top is steel (not fiberglass) and it has the correct nut inserts in the bed for the factory bulkhead that is removable behind the back of the seat. It has spent most, if not all it’s life in Texas away from the salt and rust up north. Rocker panels and body mounts are in excellent condition (see pics). All the gears work on the transmission and Hi/low front rear gear engage on the transfer case work. Odometer is showing 51391 miles. I could not tell you if they are original miles. I have owned many scouts over the years, This one starts very easily, runs, drives and stops with great response and pep for an old scout. The power steering is amazingly smooth and the brakes are excellent. This truck has power disk brakes in front and I will say with confidence that they work excellent. The Interior has ALL NEW upholstery The truck is well built from the factory with Dana 44 axles in the front and rear with a 4 inch lift. This scout has the biggest motor scout ever had installed the V8, 345 cubic inch motor aftermarket exhaust sounds great while not being too loud. . It also has three speed auto trans and Dana 20 transfer case. This Scout also was equipped with automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and the 60/40 bench seat.
This is a CONVERTIBLE TRUCK !! The top comes completely off for an open-air drive or beach cruise! all the windows are in great shape and do not have any cracks or chips. The last few photos are of the undercarriage, body supports and the left and right wheel well that are in great shape.(Usually these areas are rusted to bits, especially up north in the snow)
The turn signals/ hazards brake lights hi/low beam and even the license plate lights work. The wipers 2 speeds and park work. One nice thing about this scout is the horn works as it should, which is rare. Again this is a REAL Scout 2 half cab with a 100” wheelbase whereas a scout Terra has 118”. I only say this because this is the #1 question I get when someone sees this Scout. Note the cab is steel and the windows have square edges not round. One nice thing about the Half-cabs is that you don’t need 4 people to take the top off. I can do it by myself no problem and it is much easier to store.

This is not a show truck, it has some imperfections in the paint, possible blemishes, dings and may need final tuning to get it to the way you like it. The car is almost 50 years old, it will not drive, or look like a new Honda. I have driven it about 10 miles down the street and to the gas station several times to test things out. People are always asking me about it and it is super fun to be in the driver’s seat with the top off and the wind in your hair. The $500 non-refundable deposit is due at the end of the auction and full payment is due within one week. I accept PayPal Chase quick pay or venmo for the deposit.
