1949 International Harvester KB-1 1/2 ton 6.5 foot short box

An incredible find, one family owned from new in 1949, for 70 years. Fresh out of dry storage, this is the most desirable k series truck available. Last year for the line, this truck is in incredible original condition, no rust anywhere, the box, cab corners, fenders and floor are all original with the exception of 1 patch shown on the passenger side floor. The paint is from the 90's and appears to be acrylic enamel, and is the original Adirondack green. The truck has not even been properly cleaned or detailed, but the paint is excellent, and will really respond well to a buffing. The bench seat was recovered many years ago, and is in perfect condition. The motor is the original green diamond flathead six with the number on the block matching the number on the data plate. The transmission is a 3 speed on the floor. All oils and fluids have been changed. The gas tank was sent out, cleaned, sealed, and a new steel fuel line installed. Fuel pump has been cleaned and the carb professionally rebuilt with correct kit. The engine runs great, smooth idle, starts easily. No overheating, knocks or oil pressure issues, but it does smoke a bit at speed in 3rd gear. Mileage is original, and the engine starts and runs well. The clutch and transmission work and shift really well. Brakes were cleaned and adjusted and work properly. The truck drives, stops, and most everything works, other than the parking brake. Tires are 50 year old BFG silvertowns and will need replacement due to cracking.This truck is truly a time capsule, completely original, and un-molested, having been painted once many years ago. Most of these trucks were worked to death on the farm, and very few really nice examples are left. They are only original once and no one has changed or tampered with anything on this truck.
