1958 International Harvester Metro

Have yourself a merry little Christmas by bringing home what you’ve been waiting for - the elusive, true shorty, 1958 Metro! An original Snap-On Tools truck!
I have spent the last two years planning and searching out everything this Metro needed. Right off the top - this has a CLEAN TITLE! I did all the months of legwork with the DMV to get the paperwork side of things legit. No registration issues await you.I have dragged home 3 Metros in total just to get all the parts to make this one complete. I have tried to include every conceivable angle in the pictures so you can see clearly what is up for grabs. This is a 1958 International Metro with the shortest, and rarest, wheelbase that was offered - 102”. Both of the others I had were 115”
In case you can’t make out what the pieces in the pictures are:I have gathered all the M E T R O letters across the front of the truck. The grill is rarer still - off a ’52 Metro. This was before the “IH” emblem became part of the grill. This combination of METRO letters and the grill never came from the factory - I just thought it was the cleanest look. All the factory headlight and front turn signal housings, lenses, and bezels have been found. The rears were literally just reflectors!Replacement gauges are included.Windshield wiper arms (upper and lower) and the beveled spacers and hardware are there.Latches/hinges for the engine coverEngine cover prop rodEngine cover has been swapped for one that is in much better shape, and straighter than the originalAll the radiator air deflector tinsOriginal hornWindow mechanism for the driver doorFactory heater and ventsElectrical cover plate - for the bottom side of the gauge panelInternational and L-120 insignias (I put these on loosely for the pictures)Some original rubber (for reference)Original Metro radiator with integral mount, also spare radiator mountAnd one of the best parts - an additional, nearly perfect, rear bumper! How an industrial truck’s rear bumper stayed this straight for nearly 70 years is a mystery. But it comes with the truck - even after I’ve been offered $1000 for it.
All of the drivetrain has been eliminated. The tires have been miraculously holding air for a few years now and the truck rolls quite easily. This was always intended to be built and used by me, that is why I have been meticulous in searching out all of the various pieces I needed. So it’s with some sadness that I’m listing it. But this will be an awesome truck for you, and you can get straight to work making it your own knowing that all of the hard to find bits are taken care of.
A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction ending, and full payment within 7 days.Your Metro is currently in Salt Lake City, UtahMerry Christmas!
