Description:

1976 International Harvester Scout XLC

This is a classic International Harvester Scout II, XLC (Extra Load Capacity). It has everything you could want in a durable 4x4 SUV. We've owned it for about 6 years, and I've just finished the total frame on restoration. The odometer shows 57,000 miles, and I am sure those are original miles - it's easy to tell. Since I've had it, we stripped it down completely - interior, top, etc. Straightened everything, block sanded it, addressed any issues, then performed a tri-coat paint job, burying the brandy apple red base and black rallye stripes under multiple coats of translucent red, finished again with multiple coats of clear. Complete color change on the interior, rhino lining in the bed, new headliner, etc. etc. etc. It's gorgeous.
The engine is the original 345 4 barrel with the factory 727 torque flight automatic transmission. Excellent oil pressure, doesn't run hot, no valve noise, no oil leaks, runs and drives excellent. All the fluids have been done. Brakes, tires, etc., are like new. Tranny shifts perfectly, engine purrs like a kitten. The 4x4 transfer case, front and rear dif's, are nice and quiet, shift in and out of 4 wheel drive with no problem, as they should.

When we stripped it down, almost to bare metal, we found only one dime size area of rust that had to be attended to, in the right rear corner of the interior. This is a normal spot where rain comes through at the back hatch. I cut it out and dealt with it properly. To make sure this doesn't happen any more, we replaced all of the rubbers on the Scout - windows, top, windshield, etc. etc. This is an Oregon car - we do NOT salt our roads out here! The original undercoat wasmostly there, and NO RUST. We touched it up in a few placesforadded protection.

I purchased the Scout from an Insurance Company about 6 years. It had some minor left rear fender damage but I could see that everything else was in great original condition - interior, engine, frame, etc. It has a reconstructed title. You can transfer this into your name, insure it, sell it - all the reconstructed title does is tell you and everyone down the line that the vehicle has been paid out on by an insurance company.PLEASE contact us if you have ANY questions! We are happy to talk with you about the Scout!

I can go on and on about all the work that has been done on the truck. The best thing to do is to come out and take a look at it. It's everything I have described, plus more. Oh yeah, it has Air Conditioning that blows ice cold! If you'd like to see it, give me a call. If you are in the area or know someone who is, you are welcome to come see the Scout in person before you bid. It is well worth seeing!

DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO BUY! If you have No feedback or Negative feedback, contact me before you bid, otherwise your bid may be retracted. Please contact me with ANY QUESTIONS!
