1969 International Harvester Scout NO RESERVE HARD TO FIND & CLEAN 1/2 TON CORN BINDER 130PIX+VIDEOS
NO RESERVE ON THIS HARD TO FIND 1969 INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER 1100 1/2 TON PICKUP! AUCTION ENDS THURSDAY FEBRUARY 22ND AT 7:00PST THIS IS JUST A GOOD CLEAN AND STRAIGHT OLD CLASSIC WORK HORSE BINDER! THE IH TRUCKS ARE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND EVERY YEAR, BUT ESPECIALLY THE 1969 & 70'S. 1969 WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THIS MORE BOXY BODY STYLE WHERE THE 1968 AND PRIOR BODY STYLE WAS MORE ROUND. THE IH TRUCK LINE HAD THIS SAME GENERAL BODY STYLE FROM 1969 UNTIL THE END OF PRODUCTION IN 1975 WITH SMALL CHANGES TO THE FRONT END AND TRIM THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. IN THIS TIME RUN THE HALF TON WAS BADGED SEVERAL NAMES FROM THE 1000, 1010,1110, 100 AND 150 WHICH THIS TRUCK IS A 1100 WHICH STANDS FOR HEAVY HALF TON OVER THE 100 & 1000. THE 1969 & 70 TRUCKS WERE THE ONLY ONES TO SHARE THIS FRONT GRILLE WITH THE CENTER BAR AND IS MY FAVORITE IH OF ANY YEAR. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN WASHINGTON STATE IT'S WHOLE LIFE, HAS A CLEAN TITLE AND UP TO OUR TIME OF PURCHASE IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A REGISTERED, MAINTAINED AND REGULARLY DRIVEN TRUCK FOR ALL OF THE PAST 40+ YEARS. PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE IN DEPTH DESCRIPTIONS AND SCROLL TO THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE TEXT TO SEE THE 120 LARGE DETAILED PICS FOLLOWED BY A WALK AROUND VIDEO WITH A BANNER ABOVE THAT HAS THE LINK TO THE RUNNING AND DRIVING VIDEO. AS YOU MAY BE ABLE TO TELL BY OUR NAME OR OUR PAST AUCTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE SEEN, WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE HUNT FOR ODD BALLS, CLEAN CLASSIC ORIGINAL SURVIVORS AND CLASSIC TRUCKS, AND WHILE WE HAVE A PASSION FOR ALL CLASSIC TRUCKS THE C10'S AND THE INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER LINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN OUR TRUE LOVE AND AT THE TOP OF OUR LIST. THEY ARE ALWAYS HARD TO TURN AWAY WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY COMES TO OWN ANOTHE, SO WHEN WE CAME ACROSS THIS SWEET LITTLE 69 WE JUST HAD TO LOAD HER UP. EVER SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER AND GETTING MY HANDS DIRTY FOR THE FIRST TIME AS A INTERNATIONAL OWNER ON MY 72 SCOUT, I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THERE IS NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE LINE TO ME THAT BLEEDS MORE AMERICAN THEN THE RED AND BLACK IH CROSS. TO ME I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THIS WAS SUCH A COOL BADGE TO WEAR ON YOUR TRUCK WITH A LINE THAT TRULY WORKED ACROSS AMERICA FROM THE BIG RIGS HAULING GOODS FROM STATE LINE TO STATE LINE, THE TRACTORS AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT ON THE FARMS, THE FRIDGES AND FREEZERS THAT KEPT OUR FOOD COLD,TO THE BUSES THAT HAULED THE CHILDREN AND THE ARMORED TRUCKS THAT MOVED MONEY ACROSS THE COUNTY. TO ME THIS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE WORKING MANS COMPANY AND ONE OF THE BACK BONES OF AMERICA. THIS TRUCK IS A GREAT RUNNER AND DRIVER THAT CAN HONESTLY BE LEFT ALONE AS IS AND JUST DRIVEN, USED AND ENJOYED AS IT IS ASCETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY FOR YEARS AND YEARS AS AN OLD WORK HORSE OR WEEKEND FUN TRUCK. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MINOR PROJECT TRUCK THIS IH WOULD WOULD BE A GREAT FIT, AS THERE IS ALL KINDS OF LITTLE ITEMS YOU COULD SORT, RESTORE AND IMPROVE ALONG THE WAY LIKE THE BLOWER MOTOR AND WIPER MOTOR IS IN-OP( BEEN USING THE TRUSTY RAIN-X) THE CARPET COULD USE REPLACING, COULD USE MINOR CLEAN UP AND TOUCH UP'S ON THE INTERIOR AND BODY, MAYBE A NICE SET OF WHEELS AND TIRES AND IF YOUR LOOKING TO START CLICKING SOME SERIOUS MILES MAYBE GO THROUGH ALL THE BULBS, FLUIDS, WIRING CONNECTIONS AND GIVE IT A GOOD ONCE OVER SINCE IT IS NEARLY 50 YEARS OLD AND NOT SEEN A LOT OF MILES IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. REALLY WITH A TRUCK LIKE THIS THE SKY IS THE LIMIT WITH WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND IT IS NOT A TRUCK IN NEED OF A FULL RESTORATION, BUT IF YOU WERE LOOKING TO DO ONE I COULDN'T IMAGINE A MORE HONEST OR DESERVING CANDIDATE FOR A PARTIAL SYMPATHETIC RESTORATION TO A FULL FRAME OFF BUILD AS IT IS A TRUE ORIGINAL AND ICONIC PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY. THIS TRUCK WAS GONE THROUGH IN THE EARLY 2000'S AND THEY HAD A COMPLETE PAINT JOB DONE TO CONVERT IT FORM THE FACTORY GREEN TO THE CRISP BRIGHT WHITE YOU SEE TODAY AND THEY DID A NICE JOB OF DOING THE DOOR JAMBS AND UNDER THE HOOD, BUT THERE IS SOME AREAS SOME SMALL AREAS THAT HAVE NOW STARTED TO SHOW AGE. WHEN THEY HAD THE TRUCK PAINTED THEY ALSO PAINTED THE INTERIOR SIDE OF THE DOORS ALONG WITH THE DASH A NICE TAN, RESTORED THE FACTORY BENCH IN TAN THAT STILL LOOKS PERFECT, RE-DID THE HEADLINER AND ADDED TAN CARPET WHICH WAS A BAD CHOICE OF COLOR TO USE AND SHOWS DARK AREAS UNDER THE RUBBER MAT. IT LOOKS FINE COVERED, BUT IS DUE FOR REPLACING AND THE HEADLINER HAS A COUPLE WAVY SPOTS. THIS TRUCK IS FROM AN ERA WHEN LIFE WAS TRULY DIFFERENT AND MANY OF US RESPECT AND LOOK BACK IN FONDNESS. THIS HARVESTER ONLY HAS A 5 DIGIT ODOMETER THAT SHOWS 87,366 AND ROLLS OVER AT 100K, SO WE REALLY HAVE NO IDEA OF THE TRUE MILES. IT IS ODO EXEMPT IN WASHINGTON STATE AND WILL SAY THAT ON THE PURCHASE ORDER. PLEASE READ FURTHER AND WATCH THE VIDEO TO GET THE BEST IDEA OF THIS BEAUTY. BODY- THIS 69 BINDER HAS A NICE CLEAN LOOK WITH A VERY STRAIGHT AND SOLID BODY. AS MENTIONED ABOVE IT WAS COMPLETELY REPAINTED IN THE EARLY 2000'S FROM GREEN TO WHITE. THEY DID A NICE JOB IN THE JAMBS AND WHEN THE PAINT WAS FIRST DONE IT PROBABLY LOOKED NEAR PERFECT. THE TRUCK SINCE THEN HAS BEEN USED, DRIVEN AND ENJOYED, SO IS NOW STARTING TO SHOW SOME AGE AND WEAR. THE PAINT IS A NICE SINGLE STAGE BRIGHT WHITE AND STILL HAS SOME SHINE, BUT COULD USE A GOOD BUFFING TO BRING BACK THAT HIGH GLOSS. DURING THE PAINT JOB THEY HAD THE CENTER OF THE STAINLESS TRIM PAINTED BODY COLOR AND PAINTED THE GRILLE, BUMPERS AND WHEELS A NICE LOOKING ACCENT PEWTER COLOR THAT NOW HAS SOME CHIPS AND WEAR. THE PAINT JOB WAS NOT A NUT AND BOLT $15K PAINT JOB, BUT DONE TO PRESERVE THE TRUCK AND GIVE IT A FRESH LOOK, SO THE SIDE TRIM PIECES WERE NOT REMOVED ALONG WITH THE GLASS AND NOW THERE IS SOME SMALL CHIPPING RIGHT UP AGAINST SOME OF THE TRIM, IN SOME AREAS AROUND THE GLASS, IN THE ROOF RAIN GUTTERS AND SOME AREAS THAT GOT SCUFFED AROUND THE BUMPERS. THERE IS ALSO SOME TYPICAL ENTRY WEAR AND SMALL CHIPS AROUND THE ENTRY SIDES OF THE CAB AND DOORS ALONG WITH SOME LOADING CHIPS AND SCUFFS ON THE BED RAILS AND TAIL GATE. THIS TRUCK IS ARROW STRAIGHT WITH NO DENTS AND JUST ONE LITTLE DING BELOW THE MOLDING ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE BED. THE BODY IS VERY SOLD WITH JUST A FEW LITTLE BUBBLES ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE CAB CORNERS, A FEW SURFACE RUST SPOTS ON THE ROCKERS WHEN YOU OPEN UP THE DOORS, SOME CANCER SPOTS AT THE VERY BACK OF THE INSIDE BED FLOOR NEAR THE TAIL GATE OPENING AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE FRONT OF THE BED HAS BEEN PATCHED AT SOME POINT AND HAS A FLAT FLOORS. ALL THE LIGHTS HAVE NICE LENSES AND ALL GLASS IS IN NICE SHAPE. THE INNER ROCKERS, A & B PILLARS, UNDER SIDE OF HOOD, BATTERY BOX, INNER FENDERS, FIREWALL, COWL, RAIN GUTTERS, HOOD, BODY MOUNTS, CAB FLOORS, BOTTOM OF THE DOORS ALL LOOK VERY SOLID. OVERALL THIS IS A GREAT LOOKING CLASSIC TRUCK THAT GETS COMPLIMENTS AND DEPENDING ON YOUR TASTE AND PERSONALITY IS EITHER A GREAT BLANK CANVAS FOR YOUR BUILD OR IS ONE THAT ALREADY HAS THE FOUNDATION OF THE LOOK YOUR GOING FOR AND 90% THERE THAT JUST NEED YOUR LITTLE TWEAKS AND CHANGES TO MAKE IT WHAT YOU WANT.INTERIOR- INSIDE IT OVERALL MATCHES THE ORIGINAL CONDITION OF THE TRUCK. THE INTERIOR CAB IS CLEAN, VERY PRESENTABL, COMFORTABLE AND STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL RADIO THAT WORKS. IT IS ODOR FREE OF AMY SMOKE, PET OR MILDEW AND ISN'T A REALLY LOUD ANNOYING RIDE. YOU DON'T GET ANY EXHAUST FUMES COMING IN AND THIS TRUCK DOESN'T LEAVE YOU SMEELING LIKE FUEL OR EXHAUST AFTER YOU DRIVE IT LIKE YOU MAY GET IN MANY OTHER OLD VEHICLES. AS MENTIONED ABOVE WHEN IT WAS PAINTED THEY RESTORED THE SEAT AND DOOR PANELS IN TAN VINYL THAT BOTH STILL LOOK EXCELLENT, REPAINTED THE INNER PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DOORS TAN TO MATCH ALONG WITH THE METAL AREA OF THE DASH BOARD. THEY ALSO RE-DID THE HEADLINER AND CARPET IN THE SAME LIGHT TAN. THE CARPET NOW SHOWS AGE WITH DARKENING SPOTS AND THE HEADLINER HAS A FEW WAVY SPOTS. BUT OVERALL THE SEAT, DOOR PANELS AND PAINTED TAN AREAS KEEP THIS INTERIOR LOOKING NICE AND TASTEFUL MIXED WITH THE BRIGHT WHITE EXTERIOR. WE NEVER HAVE HAD A DOOR KEY, BUT LUCKILY YOU WON'T LOCK YOURSELF OUT BECAUSE THEY ONLY LOCK WITH A KEY, THE FRONT WINDSHIELD PROBABLY NEEDS A NEW SEAL AS I HAVE NOTICED THE CARPET BEING A LITTLE WET SOMETIMES IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS LEAKED IN THE PAST AND PUT STREAKS ON THE LOWER KICK PANEL AND CORNERS OF THE DASH. ON BOTH FLY WINDOWS LOCK PROPERLY, BOTH SIDE WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN AND YOU DO GET SOME AIR SOUND COME IN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BUT WITH THE AERODYNAMICS OF A SHOE BOX IT DIDN'T GO THOUGH A WIND TUNNEL FOR AERODYNAMICS TO KEEP WIND NOISE DOWN AND WILL NEVER BE A 100% QUIET. THE DASH IS IN REALLY NICE SHAPE WITH A PERFECT BLACK DASH PAD. THE GAUGES ARE NICE AND CLEAR, BUT THE SPEEDOMETER SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY ONES THAT CONSISTENTLY WORKS (A VERY COMMON INTERNATIONAL ISSUE) AND AS MENTIONED ABOVE THE BLOWER MOTOR AND WIPER MOTOR ARE IN-OP.MECHANICAL/UNDER CARRIAGE- AS STATED ABOVE THIS TRUCK HAS ALL IT'S ORIGINAL RUNNING GEAR AND RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE A TOP. MECHANICALLY IT IS A DEPENDABLE DRIVER AS IT SITS AND HAS BEEN OVERALL A WELL LOOKED AFTER TRUCK. IT CAME OPTIONED WITH THE LEGENDARY TORQUE MONSTER 258 INLINE 6 CYLINDER BACKED BY A 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND POWER STEERING. THIS TRUCK ALWAYS FIRES RIGHT UP NO MATER HOW LONG IT SITS WITH JUST ONE PULL OF THE MANUAL CHOKE CARBURETOR. THE FACTORY 258 IS A VERY SMOOTH RUNNING MOTOR THAT HAS NICE THROTTLE RESPONSE, PULLS STRONG, DOESN'T STUMBLE, DOESN'T SMOKE, THE CARB DOESN'T RUN RICH OR LOAD UP. THIS MOTOR IS A VERY WELL SORTED AND TIGHT RUNNER THAT SOUND LIKE A LITTLE SEWING MACHINE. THE 4SPEED MANUAL TRANS HAS A NICE CLUTCH PEDAL FEEL THAT GRABS AND RELEASE RIGHT WHERE IT SHOULD, TIGHT FORKS AND SHIFT PATTERN THAT ALLOYS FOR EASY AND PLEASURABLE DRIVES. THIS TRUCK IS VERY EASY AND FUN TO DRIVE THANKS TO THE QUICK RATIO POWER STEERING BOX THAT MAKES TURNS A EASE IN THIS BIG SLED. THIS TRUCK TRACKS AND STOPS STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH AT HIGHWAYS SPEEDS, IN TRAFFIC, THROUGH THE CITY AND ON WINDY BACK ROADS. THERE IS NO SHAKING FROM THE BRAKES, NO CLUNKING OR PULLING IN THE FRONT-END OR STRANGE NOISES. THE WHEELS ARE THE ORIGINAL 15X6 SET WITH FACTORY SIZE TIRE THAT RIDE FINE, BUT ARE GETTING OLD AND FEEL A LITTLE SOFT AROUND CORNERS AND BUMP, SO THIS WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO UPGRADE TO LARGER TIRES THAT WOULD GIVE THE TRUCK AND BETTER FOOT PRINT AND MAYBE A NICE LOOKING SET OF WHEELS. THIS 69 BASICALLY RUNS, DRIVES AND RIDES JUST LIKE YOU WOULD EXPECT IT TO WHETHER YOU WERE LOOKING AT IT IN THE 80'S, 90S OR PRESENT. I WOULD TRUST THIS OLD HARVESTER TODAY TO TAKE ME TO WORK, RUN ME TO THE DUMP OR HAUL ROCK ON THE WEEKEND.WHILE I KNOW EVERYONE'S OPINION IS DIFFERENT THIS TRUCK TO ME IS EVERYTHING AN OLD TRUCK SHOULD BE, WHILE IT HAS SOME FLAWS AND SHOWING ITS JOURNEY AND STORY, IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE A MODERN TRUCK, FULFILLS THAT OLD TRUCK NEED AND FEELING A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES AND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE. The older the car, the harder it is to define the condition of the vehicle. Most of our vehicles are specialty vehicles or are 15+ years old, and usually trucks. Because of this, it is very difficult to describe each vehicle to everyone's satisfaction. Based on the bidder's personal experience, some bidders will be overly pleased with my description and pictures, and others may feel that I fell short. I post these auctions based on how I want to see auctions when I'm buying, keeping in mind what I look for, and I try to put your eye's to what I can see and touch. Please help me by asking all questions and letting me know if other pictures are wanted. If you do not see a pic or description of a item or a area on the truck please do not assume anything and ask me about the specifics your a needing or for more pics and i will post every question asked by members so all potential bidders can see. Every car is available for inspection and i personally drive each vehicle before listing it and If anything does not work properly I will let you know. Of course I am only human and these are mechanical creatures and these are used vehicles, so please keep this in mind when bidding.Vehicle Details:
