1965 International Harvester Other

Here is a 1965 Metro step van that I am selling for a friend. I have a 100% feedback and want it to stay that way. If you have questions, PLEASE ask or call the owner, Martin @ 1 541 621-9166.

About the van,

It has the original straight 6, it has not been rebuilt, it has been detailed and new or rebuilt parts added. Water pump new, carb and fuel pump rebuilt, new hoses, plugs, wires, etc. The engine runs strong with good compression and does not smoke. The transmission was swapped from the column to the floor yeas ago, it was a 3 speed but has been up-graded to a 4 speed. The rear gears have also been swapped from low to a taller 4.11. The whole brake system has been gone through, drums turnedand parts replaced as needed, e brake works great. The van goes down the road nice, will cruise 60 mph@ 3400 rpm.

The stock radiator had been repaired several times and was in bad shape, it was replaced with a new aluminum. The same with the fuel tank, a new aluminum one was fitted. The chassis has been detailed/cleaned and is in great shape.

All wiring was repaired as needed and new led turn/brake lights were added. All gages, lights and horn work as they should. The wipers are electric and not vacuum.

The body has had all minor rust issues repaired and was painted two tone tan and light brown by a local shop. All glass and rubber is new. The doors open and close as they should, the steering wheel was re-painted and the seat re- covered. There is a light two line red-brown pinstripes around body center as well as a stripe around the wheel edge. The original split rim wheels were replaced with factory non-split wheels. All 5 wheels match and are shod with new tires, 235 75 17.5 size. All four hubcaps are original, the they have dings and the chrome is less than perfect, this goes for the headlight rings as well, they look fine but could use some re-plating. All the grill bars were removed and new ones made in the exact dimensions out of mirror stainless and spot welded back in just like factory. The Metro letters above the grille are made from polished stainless too.

I will add some more pics in the next couple days. Again, if you have a question or want a certain pic, PLEASE ask. If you are serious about the van please have a car inspection service check it out/drive it, or have a friend or family member come by. Thanks for looking... :)

On Sep-11-17 at 19:08:11 PDT, seller added the following information:

The interior/cargo area panels have small dings and dents from years of hauling cargo, they were straightened some, then blasted and painted. The metal panel over the wood floor has dings and dent as well, but all looks good. Check out the added pics and if you still have questions, PLEASE ask. Again, thanks for looking.
