Owner History:This third-generation 1989 Honda Prelude Si has been owned by a singlefamily for about 34 years. The Preludewas originally purchased by the current owner’s sister-in-law in July 1989 and onlydriven about 104,000 miles over 16 years (i.e., about 6,500 miles/year) in theSan Antonio, Texas area. In September 2005,clean title was temporarily transferred to the current owner’s son (i.e., todrive the Prelude from Texas to Ohio), then transferred nine months later tothe current owner’s wife in June 2006.The current owner’s wife passed away in December 2022, thus promptingthis sale. Over the last 18 years, thisPrelude has been used solely as a summer driver (stored winters when in Ohio). Accordingly, the current owner has added lessthan 50k miles (i.e., less than 3,000 miles/year) since 2006. This 1989 Honda Prelude Si is being sold asis without warranty. The clean Carfaxreport confirms the single-family chain-of-title, detailed above, and can beexamined upon request. The title canalso be examined upon request.

The original purchase agreement, with Benson Honda MazdaIsuzu of San Antonio, Texas, references a total MSRP of $17,046 with orderedoptions including air, automatic transmission, spoiler, power windows, powermirrors, and power sunroof. The originalowner’s manual and warranty book are also included.

Engine & Powertrain:This front-wheel drive Prelude is powered by a fuel injected 2.0-liter16-valve dual overhead cam (DOHC) inline four-cylinder engine (factory rated at135 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque) paired with a four-speed automatictransmission with “D”, “S”, and “2” shift-selector positions. In “D”, normal shifting occurs. In “S”, low gear shift points are altered(maintained for a longer period) and a driver selectively controls shiftinginto and out of 4th gear to increase performance. In “2”, 2nd gear is maintained forincreased power when driving uphill, increased engine braking when drivingdownhill, etc. This Prelude has been verywell maintained. The current owner notesthat the timing belt and water pump were replaced at about 113,000 miles. Recent investments include a new alternator, anew battery, as well as fresh engine oil and filter.

Exterior: ThisPrelude sports vibrant Phoenix Red paint that looks great for its age. Photos highlighting the condition of thepaint, glass, and body surfaces are included herein (e.g., a few bumper marks,small ding in passenger door, two very small stone chips in windshield, etc.). The Prelude has 14-inch wheels donning Honda-badgedwheel covers. A recent investmentincludes four (4) new 195/60 R14 85H General AltiMAX RT43 tires. Further exterior features include a sunroof, bumper-integratedfog lamps, pop-up headlights, black side moldings, molded front mud flaps, apower antenna, a rear spoiler with integrated brake light, and chrome dual tipexhaust outlets. The current owner notesthat the power antenna telescopes up fully but does not consistently telescopedown fully (see photos).

Interior: ThisPrelude exhibits well-maintained black cloth interior. Other than minor sun discoloration/fading onthe top surface of the rear folding bench seat, the black cloth is in greatshape with no visible tears. Originalblack Prelude-branded floor mats are included (see photo). Convenience features include cruise control, airconditioning, a digital dash clock, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, aheated rear window, a rear-window brake light, and an aftermarket compact discplayer/radio. Instrumentation, framed betweenthe three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, includes a 140-mph speedometer,an 8,000 rpm tachometer (having a 6,500-rpm redline), and auxiliary gauges thatdisplay coolant temperature level and fuel level. A six-digit odometer displays a respectable 150,189miles.
