1967 GMC Pickup k2500
This is a 1967 GMC K2500 4x4 8 lug Pickup. Has a cool story and piece of history behind it. It was bought and “built” by UCSB college in Santa Barbara. Was slightly upfitted to be an exploration vehicle for studies and help in Belize. It made multiple trips to South America. Original Overlander! There is still a photo of this on the wall in UCSB. My uncle attended the college and always saw the truck. Everyone loved it, wasn’t much like it back then. Later he worked at the college as an adult. And as soon as the truck became available he bought it. The pink slip is still in his name today. He registered it in 1987 in Santa Barbara. Right in the period with the College photo when they were done with the Belize project. He has owned, maintained, operated and loved this truck all these years. I recently took it off his hands and went through it. I replaced and changed all the brake components. Wheel cylinders and master. Got all the brakes going nicely. Rebuilt the carburetor and adjusted the lifters and changed the fluids and filters. Got all the doors working very nicely, windows too. Put a new battery and got the lights operating. Turn signals and brake lights. Got the truck running, driving, stopping.
Vehicle Details
Few items the truck needs.
Radiator leaks, could also use new coolant hoses.
It’s an AC truck but has AC components missing.
Transmission shifts smooth but the clutch is worn out. It just started slipping.
Needs a fresh set of tires. Get a nice set of period correct stock tires or some new 33s. Either way would look good.
