Vehicle Details

Unfortunately I must put my rare 4x4 g3500 vandura up for sale. I’m moving and cannot take it with me. One owner California van. Purchased new in Southern California and lived here all its life. I have the original pink for it as well as the factory manual, paperwork and brochure. This 1 ton van started life in excess of the 8600 lb GVWR which means it never came with catalytic converters in California and thus is not required to comply with a smog test. Visual inspection only… big deal here in CA. Totally Rust free Socal ride except for a bit of scale in one spot along the drivers side drip rail which I pictured. Rare find as it has no windows in the rear, factory A/C, has the 33 gallon tank and has the extended arm sliding door option. Original owner had it professionally converted to 4x4 back in the day to hunt for fossils. He also had the high top installed and a 3 way dometic fridge professionally put in, which I’ve tested and works. The inside Came insulated and walled with a dresser, table, Storage and bed frame. The van has a HO350 jasper crate motor that was installed prior to it being parked by the aged original owner. The original transmission was replaced with a TH400 trans and a NP205 transfer case. Both driveshafts were custom made for the truck and feature heavy duty spicer u joints. Front axle is a mod Dana 44 with axle truss and 3.73 gears. The D44 is equipped with a trac-loc diff and vintage selectro locking hubs. Rear axle stock 1 ton axle with 3.73s and a positraction. The engine transfer case and transmission are all tubular steel mounted. The drivetrain Is protected by a custom plate steel tube mounted skid plate * note I removed this temporarily for a better photo of the undercarriage…Transfer case works. Transmissions smooth. motor healthy. Runs cool, doesn’t leak motor oil. Cold A/C. Steers and stops. All electrical and gauges are accurate and work. Speedo works.

Ice cold factory air conditioning converted to modern refrigerant!

Motor has fresh filter and vr1 high zinc oil in it. New lug nuts, grade 8 shock hardware, OEM mirrors and more…

The van has (5) steel 16” gmc wheels I had powder coated flat white. Rare gmc k3500 4x4 hubcaps sit on the wheels. All 5 wheels are wrapped in new BFG ko2 all terrain tires measuring 32” tall.

I have about 5-6k just in parts and lots of my time into this rig just in the last few months but it’s a rare one and well worth it. Very unusual automotive find, I’m sad to part with it. The list of recent work performed is obviously quite comprehensive but the van will need finishing touches. Id like to finish it but circumstances changed…Ive driven it short rides around town but I’d recommend further carburetor tuning and tlc before going any real distance. Will come with a clean California title, all the service manuals I have for it and a plethora of spare parts including touch up paint, hoses, belts, filters, fittings etc… also available with the van to any buyer who meets my asking price is a heavy tow hitch and a new in box Vantech brand roof rack custom made for high top G series vans. This rack is discontinued from the manufacturer and very $$.

Please reach out with any questions. I’ve seen these vans go from 20-60k depending on condition, letting this one go for much less. Sold as is. Will help out of state buyers arrange shipping.
