GMC Other.1967 GMC SWB. 383 Stroker w/ Vortec II heads. '77 Camaro 8.5" rear end w/200R4 automatic transmission. Works completed in the last year are as follows;- transmission rebuilt locally- Vortec Head remachined by local reputable shop- Complete new Painless Wire harness installed - Dakota Vintage Digital Dash- New AC SD7 Compressor installed- Tubular front control arms (LMC truck)- Holley 750 Demon- Accel HEI Distributor, plugs, wires.- Bell Tech shocks, front and rear- Soundmat installed on floor- Have hood liner new in box- Bed tonneau cover installed- New Steering Box- rebuilt steering column
Issues: My next step was to refresh the bottom end. When i bought the truck the guy said the 383 stroker was rebuilt and i can see that new gaskets were installed, however I never trust this as I do hear some pinging when warm (mainly lifters). Has plenty of power though and A/C blows nice and cold. Temp stays around 180 degrees with the dual electric fans.
