1979 GMC Suburban Sierra

1979 GMC Suburban Sierra Grande 3/4 ton 4x4
For sale privately, by owner.

In absolutely remarkable condition. Very low mileage.

History:
This Suburban has a relatively simple history. It was stored away for, as close as we can estimate, somewhere nearly 35 years. This resulted in it's exceptionally low mileage of only 43,680 miles.
  • We bought it several years ago.
    • (It was relatively on impulse but, you just don't find perfectly original 43-thousand mile original Suburbans).
  • Shortly after, we decided to have it restored.
    • Important to note:Everything was done by professionals, at dedicated facilities.
  • We started out as just wanting to do a few little things so we can RELIABLY and stylishly enjoy it on family outings to the family cabin but, maybe some of you will understand how that goes. Things got a little out of hand.
    • By the time we were talked into spending on, well.... everything you can imagine, it was almost too nice to drive.
Since then, we never really ever used Big-Silver. There's a section of gravel road to our cabin, several miles long. Time passed and we just never used it. It's left our garage maybe 5 times, and moved in total maybe less than 150 miles.

I've lost most of my passion for collecting cars. We've sold off almost all of them, only keeping a few. See Feedback. This is the last to go. I fully do not expect to regain any significant portion of what we spent, and won't even try. As such, it's listed as-is how-is where-is, and..... fully unreserved.

Full disclosure:
  • From sitting, it developed an oil drip. It's red; seems to be from the transmission.
  • Could probably use some fresh fuel and a good drive.
  • I don't know if the front winch works. I bought it as a perfect period-correct Warn Industries accessorypiece. For preference, I left them as original-unrestored.
  • The exhaust is original and hasn't been touched. This isn't preference. I meant to have a nice free-flowing system installed but, never got around to it.
  • The left signal stopped blinking. Found out this morning when I took it out of the garage for pictures. I believe it's just a bulb.
  • There are new wiper blades for it that haven't been installed.
  • The rear window stopped going up from the dash switch. It only works from the key.

We have built some very decent feedback. Common themes are "very helpful", "trust Johnny & Sophia", and "vehicle better than described". My wife Sophia has gotten pretty good at arranging shipping. She'll set everything up for you. You won't have to lift a finger. Most states were in the 1,500 to 2,000 dollar price range. Furthermost destinations like Texas and Florida range about 2,500. I understand that it's gone up recently so please budget for at least this much. I don't understand the rules in each particular state or country so we are selling the Suburban as per Alberta rules. If you need anything else, just let us know... we are very helpful. Let me know if you'd like to talk and we can arrange a call.

Vehicle must be paid for within 72 hours of end of auction, unless previous arrangements have been made.
The not-so-fine print..... Sold as-is how-is where-is. No refunds, no returns, no exchanges.

Please remember...I've placed this auction as un-reserved.
Kindly don't ask for more pictures. Look at the photos supplied, the heartfelt feedback others have left, and extrapolate. If that's not good enough, or you are hesitant.... kindly don't bid. My wife and I are not dealers that'll say anything to to squeeze out every dime. Also, I'll offer this... Send a professional appraiser. We'll be more thanaccommodating. In fact, if he gives any good reason not to buy... We'll pay for his visit.
