1984 GMC Jimmy K1500 Not Bronco or K5 Blazer
1984 GMC Jimmy K1500
1984 GMC Jimmy K1500. Condition is Used. Up for consideration is a pretty nice little 1984 GMC Jimmy. The GMC version of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer. The body is pretty nice overall. It is an old vehicle and does have some dents, dings and bruises. It was towed behine a Motorhome from Texas to Florida for roughly 8 years. It's been a Texas truck it's whole life.
There is a nickle size spot of cancer on the pass side floorboard (Outer), there is a spot around the body bushing area on pass side, there is a very small hole on the pass rear in the cargo deck and there is some rust on the pass B pillar but it is not cancered out, it's just scaled. These are all VERY easy to fix. Other than that, the floor is beautiful and the sides below the seat belt anchor area are rust free. It's a great little truck that fires right up and will drive great. I have a video of me driving it.
So, it has a 305 V8 and 700R4 trans. The trans pan was leaking. I have a new one on the way and will put a new filter, fluid, gasket and pan on it before I sell it. The trans shifts perfectly. It has a Quadrajet carb on it with full emissions and everything is working. I bought a new EGR valve for it just in case and will include it. The carb needs to be rebuilt or at least new gaskets installed and cleaned well. I MIGHT do that before I sell it. It runs pretty rich right now. I am not a carb guy so I didn't want to tackle the rebuild. It will also smoke a little when loaded, I think from running so rich. It has an exhaust leak on it at the collector on pass side. Other than those issues, it runs great and I drive it daily now.
The tires are 6 years old but only have about 3700 miles on them.
New brakes! The booster was replaced, the front pads and rotors were replaced and the calipers rebuilt. The rears were inspected and are good to go. This baby STOPS!
Windshield is good as well, no cracks. The shocks work but are a little spongy.
All windows roll down just fine. The 2 front will roll up fine as well. The rear will roll down and back up using the dash switch. The outside keyed function doesn't work so I think the safety switch is going out or is bad. I've read recently about bypassing it with a relay. Seems easy enough but I don't mind using the dash switch.
The hood and fenders are good but the hood has some damage from something on top of an RV falling onto it. Its easily fixable. Rockers are good inside and out, the doors are real nice and the quarters and tailgate and beautiful except a small dent on drivers side quarter.
The A/C stuff was replaced with new parts like compressor, dryer etc. Its on R134A and blows very cold.
New alternator, new air filter, new plugs and wires, new gas cap, new vacuum hoses and the battery is an Interstate and is 3 or 4 years old. New LED dome lights and the top is in nice shape.
The window felts, glass guide rubbers, top rubbers and tailgate rubbers will obviously need replaced. They are 36 years old.
You are welcome to come look at it in Austin, TX or have a mechanic check it out.
I think that covers everything. It's a very nice little driving Jimmy/K5 that I think someone will really love. It needs VERY LITTLE to be a beautiful truck. It IS 36 years old so please expect some cosmetic and mechanical issues.
Sold as-is wherein with no warranty expressed or implied. You are responsible for picking up or shipping. I will meet the shipper locally.
Local cash sale or will accept a Postal Money order or a cashiers check. My bank will verify funds are good so expect a 3-7 day hold once deposited.
Clear Texas blue title. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago so the title is still in his name. With Covid, Texas isn't doing registrations right now. I will provide the bill of sale as well. I am ONLY selling because I found another Mustang I want to buy.
Speaking of, I will also trade this for a clean running 1989-1995 Mustang. Only a 5.0L motor and prefer a manual trans. No junk please.

Forgot to add. There is a spot on the pinch weld that the weatherstripping attaches to that is rusted. About an inch long.
New door strikers installed, New expensive windshield wipers installed. New dash cap as well. The glove box plastic is broken so I removed the glove box door. It's a cheap part from LMC. Also appears the right most piece of A/C duct is missing from the far right A/C vent. Again, thats a cheap part from ebay or LMC.
