1948 GMC 1/2 TON 5 WINDOW FLAT BED, REVIVED, MODEL FC102

1948 GMC FC102 DELUXE

Colorado original barn find. Bought in San Miguel County west of Montrose Colorado and used on the farm there. I have its' original license plate from 1948. I found it on Craig's List at 2:30 in the morning and bought it that day. I immediately installed new wheel cylinders, new brakes and master cylinder, new 12v battery, new water pump and best of all...5 new radial tires mounted on 5 original 6 lug wheels. Truck oozes farm used patina .and I've used Eastwood clear coat matte on the body and original bed boards to preserve that feel and look It's a jewel and needs to be driven to fully appreciate its' originality and solidness. Original glass, bed wood and slats as well as the upholstery....solid floors, doors, fenders and original grille. I've installed new headlights (12v) and I'm in the process of refinishing the dash in the original grey/silver metallic color. I'm also working on the wipers with new N>O>S parts and also the horn and speedometer cable. At 78 yrs old, I don't work as fast as I used to, but I'm careful and thorough.
