Description:
1958 GMC Suburban
I've owned this for years and held onto it hoping to restore and keep it since it came from California it was in so much better shapebut haven't yet so I decided to list it and see what happens. This is a 4x4 conversion done by NAPCO which is very hard to find especially in a suburban. It still has the 6 cylinder that cranks first lick and the 4 speed transmission in it and 4x4 works like it should. The motor runs excellent and all I done was plugs, wires, points, oil change, battery, fuel pump, and cleaned the carb it idles perfect. The oil filter canister that hangs on the side of the motor had a hose dripping from being dry and I took it off and have new hoses I ordered but have not put them on so they will come with it. All the 4x4 drivetrain is still under it with the rivets still in the frame. The Napco metal tag is on the transfercase and says T142190/ x300121/ model #23 Minneapolis Minn. USA. Looks to still have the original gas tank, shocks, exhaust, all the brake hoses are original and 1 brake line was replaced on the rear axle to the rear wheel. New master cylinder and I think wheel cylinders about 2 years ago they work fine.I found the original little 4x4 sticker inside the truck which is cool to have. Lights work and the generator light stays on in the dash. The previous owner painted the top trim around the inside and it looks fine. Original seats looks great but has 1 rip on the drivers side could be fixed. No rear seat. The wooden floor is still under the original black mat in the rear floor. The tag on the inside cab in the door jam says Serial # 10LP88247A / 130H.P. at 3600 RPM's and 121 H.P. at 3400 RPM's Max Gross Weight 5,600. The glass is good other then a the passenger door vent glass. As far as the rust, its just got the basic spots they all get it in which is both lower sides of the rear fenders and around the wheel curve and a little around the lower rockers. Passenger door has a few spots underneath it, and drivers side has 2 little spots as well but the outside looks good and driver side front fender has a few spots. On the inside of the cab where you step in the pass side only has 1 spot the size of a quarter and the lower part of the inside of the tailgate has a spot you can cut out and patch Both sides are extremely straight and the bumpers are good and the grill. The top is solid and the drip rail only has 1 spot the size of a dime on the rear driverside. Overall this thing is in really good shape for its age and is a super nice survivor that is untouched and really collectible and hard to find. It runs perfect and is very low geared so its got tons of power. This would be a great restoration project for a serious collector that knows the value of these and would be beautiful restored. I also thought it would look good with the original wheels and hubcaps on it and just spray a satin clear to seal the body so you could enjoy driving it without worrying so much. This will be a great investment to have down the road as rare as these models are. I DONT EMAIL OR TEXT JUST CALL ME AT 512-760-5665 AND I WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.
