1957 GMC 102 Pick UpHalf ton / Step side
Up for your consideration is my 1957 GMC 102 Pick Up. These old GMC's arehard to come by,especially without being rotted out. This old girl has great bones and is very solid. I bought this truck about 3years ago locally here in Salt Lake City. It was a father and sonproject that didn't quite make it to completion. I thought I'd get around to finishing it but I'mthinning my herd of projects to focus on just a couple. Anyway, this one has to go.
The truck has a big block Cadillac engine in it that ran when I bought it and stored it indoors. I haven't started it since then. If I get a chance I'll see if I can get her started. It's paired to an automatic transmission. Some of the upgradesthat came with the engine swap included power steering and HEI ignition. A new steering column with tilt wheel was alsoinstalled. The added bucket seats with center drop down armrest are a niceaddition and are comfortable. The seats are properly and securely installed and have seat belts.
It has drum brakes all the way around with newbrake lines. The dual exhaust is also in near new condition with what appears to be Cherry Bomb mufflers. The tires all look to be in near newcondition also and the aluminum dish wheels are in great shape.
Overall the body is in solid shape. Up close you can tell it's anamateur paint job. The cab corners were professionally replaced at some point and are rust free. The step plates are all in great shape as are the floor pans. Door jambs and seams are rust free as well. There is no bed wood but the new bed rails are all there and the bed walls and bottom bed lip is in rust free condition. The hood, roof, anddrip railsare in great shape with no rust or rot. All glass is in good shape with theexception of the passenger door and vent glass, those are both cracked. As seen in the photos the passenger door is in primer ... I'm not sure why, that's how I got it. The window regulator hardware appears to be new as well. It didn't come with a front bumper when I purchased the truck and I haven't put in the time to get one.
This is a great project that doesn't need much tofinishup and get back on the road. I wish I had time to play with it and get it on the road but my time and space has become more limited.
I can't emphasize enough that if youhavequestion, please ask them before bidding. I've beenactive oneBay for 16 years and I value my feedback. I have bought and sold MANY old vehicles oneBay and have had all 100% positive transactions up until recently. A truck I sold several months ago ended up falling short of the buyer'sridiculousexpectations in spite of answering all his questions and the many pictures. He chose to give me negative feedback and accuse me of being "dishonest" and of "horriblymisrepresenting the truck". It'sunfortunate he chose to do that and I'm currently seeking recourse througheBay. Worst caseeBay needs to allow sellers the chance to post a rebuttal and to give feedback on the buyer. eBay needs to step up to the plate and allow sellers a fair shake at defending themselves asthey allow buyers freereign to slam yourfeedback and good name without just cause. Anyway, enough moaning about that. I want the new owner to behappy with theirpurchase just as I want to be happy with the sale.
Housekeeping:Please ask all questions, have funds in place, and permission (if needed, haha) BEFORE bidding. It takes a lot of time and money to list on ebay and I don't want to waste my, or anyone elses, time. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I'm willing to help on my end to make sure all goes well with your transport at pick up time. Truck is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I'm not a dealer. I've described the vehicle as straight forwardly as I can. To serious bidders, if you want to see anything that isn't pictured I'm happy to take additional photos of what you'd like to see and email them to yo, just ask. I'm willing to discuss the truck on the phone with serious buyers, simply email me your phone number and I will call you. I'll consider ending the aution early if you would like to make an offer that's good for both of us. Good Luck !!
