1947 GMC Suburban 35610 Miles Gray Pickup Truck Inline 6 Automatic
1947 GMC Suburban --
The GMC "New Design" series of light trucks were introduced in 1947 alongside Chevrolet's nearly identical "Advanced Design." As with the Chevy, the GMCs were branded as being sleeker and more advanced than the older AK series. For 1954, a series of upgrades were added such as a Windshield now curved one-piece glass without center vertical dividing strip. Revised steering wheel. Revised dashboard. Cargo bed rails, previously angled, now horizontal. Tail lights round instead of rectangular. Grille changed from five... horizontal slats to crossbar design. Also a 235cid I6 replaced the earlier 216cid engine. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this unique 1947 GMC Restomod van for your consideration. The exterior of the van is 100% old school GMC but it sits on a 1979 GM light truck frame. The current owner purchased the truck back in 1984 and subsequently restored the truck. The exterior is is very solid and straight and features generally nice paint work. The two tone grey looks good but has a few minor imperfections. The chrome trim is nice and larger steel wheels with factory hubcaps are fitted. The interior is nice and features a comfortable bench seat, updated gauge cluster, wooden bed floors with fitted carpet, and dual rear clamshell doors. Mechanically, this is a very solid and easy to drive vehicle. The new frame is a lot more sturdy and the newer engine is more reliable as well. Also equipped with power brakes and power steering, this truck will have no problem being enjoyed on todays roads. To see over 80 photos of this car, including undercarriage please visit our website
