I am selling a cool old truck. I bought this a little over a year ago. It spent the last 37 years on a farm near Fergus Falls, MN. The previous owner was an older gal who purchased it in 1981 for her son. Her son then went into the military and when he got out, lost interest in the truck. She began to restore it herself. The bodywork was done by her many years ago. It was then taken into Fergus Falls to have it professionally squirted over her bodywork. The paint shines very well. The body work isnt a Chip Foose restore, but it looks good from 20' away. I get many thumbs up on the truck. There are many areas where you can see more time should have been spent taking out dents and more sanding. It is priced based upon this.
The driveline was professionally installed in the early 90's by a shop in Fergus Falls. The engine and rear end were taken from a 1981 Camaro. It has the original 4 speed transmission. It goes down the road at 65-70 very well. The steering take a little to get used to. It has the original front end and there is some play side to side in the steering wheel. The brakes work well. The tires are in great shape. The dual exhaust is fairly new and sounds good. It does leak some oil on drivers side of engine. It looks like it is coming from the valve cover area or around the oil filter. It will leave a spot the size of a .50 piece once parked on concrete for a week. The glass is in good condition with exception so slight air bubble looking blemishes on side door quarter glass. They do roll up and down.
I used it at my cabin. I hauled my 4500# pontoon on its trailer to and from Fargo a few times(180 miles round trip). I would trust to drive this thing home, but dont be in a hurry.
All guages, lights, heater, wipers, stereo.....work. Oil pressure at idle is around 20#. At cruising speed, it is around 30#.
