Description:
1981 GMC Sierra 2500 Sierra
I am selling my all original 1981 GMC C2500 with 81,115 original miles. A/C, Power steering, Power brakes, 292 inline 6 with manual SM 465 granny low 4 speed transmission. I am the third owner. The first owner was the United States Army, stationed at Fort Baker until the late 1980's. From there an Army Major purchased the vehicle since it was familiar to him and had sentimental value. He had the truck nearly 30 years before I acquired it. That is how I know the miles are original, and the truck shows it. This is as good as it gets to a factory original truck. Both doors open and close as they did new, tailgate opens without any issues and closes with ease. Every panel on the truck is completely straight except for passenger door which has a small dent, and passenger fender near the bumper. The bed is completely perfect, and the inside of the bed is still the original white paint. Not a single dent or rust in the bed whatsoever. The truck is 95% rust free. The only area of rust is the drivers floor board, which has two very small quarter sized rust holes. The floor is completely solid, just looks like two pocket areas where water gathered. The truck is mechanically perfect, and is still 90 days current California smog certificate. This is a Federal (EPA) emissions truck, not a California emissions truck, meaning there is no catalytic converter to deal with only air injection and canister, which looks brand new. All matching Samson scuff blocker heavy duty truck tires. Interior is perfect besides for the rubber floor mat which has deteriorated. All the door jams, floor area/behind seat, and interior are completely original and untouched. Dash has a couple cracks in it but the dash is physically good and not falling apart, it is covered with a dash mat that matches the headliner. Single (not saddle) tank. All the gauges work including brake warning and seat belt warning. Air conditioning needs a charge. The truck is almost a 10/10 if it didn't have its cosmetic issues. The paint is very solid and intact, but there are areas on the outside of the truck that have been touched up. Most of the paint on the outside is original, including the pinstripe line, but there are areas where someone carefully fixed what issues were caused through the years of paint deterioration. The motor and head had been rebuilt at some point by the second owner, still has the rebuild "pennies" glued to the freeze plugs. All four shocks have been replaced. Steering box rebuilt and installed new pump and lines when the rebuild was done. Truck starts up instantly, choke works great, idles great, steers great, stops great. This truck is the heaviest duty chassis you could get besides the 1ton dually, with a GVWR of 8600+ so it can haul anything especially with the granny low. Reinell heavy duty bumper with slide in hitch. I'm sure there may be something I missed so feel free to call or text me (9162073964) if you have any further questions and I will be happy to assist. Buyer will be responsible for all transporting/shipping fees and a $500.00 deposit will be required at purchase. I will be happy to help YOUR transporter or shipper, and have easy access close to the freeway in Sacramento California (I5) to make shipping convenient.
