FULLY RESTORED C-10, STRONG 350 V8, 700R4, WELL-OPTIONED, A/C, GREAT PAINT!!!
1986 GMC C10 High Sierra
Sometimes what you want is simple, clean, and to the point. This 1986 GMC C10 High Sierra pickup embodies that philosophy perfectly, with an ultra-straight body and two-tone paint and a minimum of add-ons that clutter the design. With 350 V8 power, a bunch of options, and a great stance, it's the ideal all-purpose hobby vehicle.
Smooth is the right word for this GMC. From the factory grille to the clean body lines and two-tone paint job, this truck embodies the word. Other than a set of oversized bumper guards and a fresh chrome bumper out back this truck is very stock-looking. The paint job is quite nicely done, with a neat dark blue stripe bisecting the gray and blue halves. Note that the break comes right at the top of the grille, wrapping around the truck along a body line that's almost hidden with a monotone paint job, but looks dramatic when rendered like this. It has obviously been repainted at some point because there's no way GM was making light blue paint look this good in 1986, and you'll be proud to drive and show this one wherever you go. The bed is beautifully preserved and finished only with some stainless bed caps to dress things up. It also includes big side mirrors and a hood ornament that was GM's way of telling us that this was the upmarket High Sierra model.
GMC was actually designing some awfully nice interiors during this era, including a wrap-around dashboard full of highly functional gauges. This one also got a fresh blue seat cover, carpets, new door panels, and a matching dash pad, all of which give it a more upscale, comfortable feel and suggest that someone was really interested in making something special. Fully functional A/C, a tilt wheel, cruise control, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo radio remain in place along with power windows and locks. The original steering wheel and gauges show some minor signs of age, but nothing that needs attention and it all seems to work properly, suggesting that someone really took care of this truck. There's also a sliding rear window that provides great ventilation for those days when you don't need A/C.
The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8 with all the usual tricks, and you know how well those run, right? There's an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor atop a matching aluminum intake manifold, long-tube headers to bolster the torque curve, and some dress-up that fits the truck's personality quite well. The under-hood area is tidy and well-maintained, evidence of a conscientious owner, and there's plenty of recent work, so it needs nothing to start cruising when it gets to your house. The engine's backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission feeding the original rear end so it still works like a truck but cruises easily at modern highway speeds and gets decent fuel economy. The dual exhaust system features Flowmaster mufflers for a great sound, terminating in subtle angle-cut tips right behind the rear wheels. The suspension is stock so it'll still haul stuff, but with those flashy 5-spoke aluminum wheels and fat BFG radials, it's got an awesome stance.
Turn-key cruisers are harder to find than you'd think, but this one is all done and ready to rock. Call today!
