This truck started out life as a 2WD half-ton. The previous owner installed the 4WD running gear, and I think he did a really good job. The truck tracks true, and maintaining front end alignment has not been an issue.
Over the years I have owned it, I installed the new engine, the headers, and the rear disc brakes. I also installed improved front wheel hubs, and put in all new Timken wheel bearings and races on all four wheels, along with Speedi Sleeve seal savers on the rear spindles. I also had a custom front driveline made with CV joints on both ends to accommodate the high angle. You can go freeway speeds in this truck in 4WD with minimal vibration.
This is a hobbyist truck, not a show truck, so there are a few things that still need attention. The clear coat is failing on the hood, as well as a few other places. This can be seen in the pictures. I did install the rear disc brakes, but I never got around to hooking up the parking brakes (they use Cadillac Eldorado style calipers, with a lever actuated mechanism). Everything works well, but it does leak in places, most notably the transmission, which needs occasional topping off.
This truck features a great combination of hardware, and I would like it to go to someone who appreciates vehicles like this, understands that they need ongoing TLC, and has the skills to keep it up.
I have the clear title in hand, and the California registration is paid for a full year.
