1953 GMC Other

For sale is a 1953 GMC Rat Rod. I built the vehicle, has my sweat and blood in it. Due to personal reasons I am forced to sell it. It started out in a field. Then we put the body on a S10 frame that has been painted, lowered it and swapped out the S10 rear end for a GMC Jimmy so it has 4 wheel disc brakes and a wider rear axle. The bodywas scrubbed and clear coated, then was mounted using rubber body mounts with extra bracing under the cab floors. The drive train is a rebuilt four bolt main 350 that has a mild cam and edelbrock intake and carb. Carb is the 1406 with electric choke. Transmission is a turbo 400 with a shift kit. The Shifter is a B&M ratchet shifter. The handle was replaced with the knife and it operates thru the alligator head. I got a 1977 chevy and cut the brake booster mount and steering mount plate off the firewall and welded it onto the 53 firewall. it has zero flex when applying the brakes. The column is out of a camaro and has tilt. I pulled the seats from a new VW Beetle and they are mounted with the shoulder harness seat belts. All leather and can still adjust for drivers comfort. The center council is out of a chevy blazer. A stereo in the glove box provides sound to two 6x9's and two 4.5" speakers located in the dash. The gauges are dolphin gauges and they fully operate. I left the original S10 gas tank in the frame. The truck has an operational heater and defroster. It also has blue LED's located under the dash that give it a subtle glow. At night it also lights up the mesh air intake behind the hood that looks really cool.
The truck has boss 20" rims with Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Tires all hold air and have plenty of tread on them. The battery is an Optima Yellowtop. It is located in the box in the bed of the truck. I had spent ammo shells on the lid but the glue did not hold. The box has supports and can actually be used. I would put a motorcycle in the back without thinking twice. The picture with the big cardboard box is a 50 gallon hot water heater.
The truck has lots of cool features and identity thats hard to all remember. Has brass skulls on the hood. A harley sturgis coin on the firewall. The air cleaner nut is a 50 cal bullet. The rear window i thought was cool so left it and replaced the front one with new weather stripping. The side windows roll up and down. Doors open and close. All gears operate. Has power steering that has no issues. At 70 mph you cab take your hands off the wheel and not die.
Motor is cooled by an aluminum radiator and electric fan. All lights work, blinkers, brake lights high beam(operated by the old floor push switch), low beam, and even the cab light is functional. The top front blinkers are off a vw super beetle, lower ones are original.
So heres what I wanted to still do. The doors latches work. I was going to upgrade them to the bear claws. The headliner is in but still needs a little finesse to look perfect. I have wires ran for tweeters and a hole for the sun visor but havent installed them yet. I went to install electric wipers and welding a bracket I smoked the electric motor. It has the right degree for the arms. Just needs a new motor and switch. Its a rear window wiper motor from an Olds Bravada. I have the original air motor and arms still that will come with the truck if you decide to go that route.
As you can see this wasnt a hack job at some shop for a dollar, I never thought i would sell it but divorce sucks. This truck is a smile and thumb up getter. Its got a great sounding exhaust and people all love it. I guarantee no one has a truck this comfortable and fun to drive that gets so much attention. Its turn key ready to go. It fires up and runs great, goes down the road straight and with four disc braked stops as you would expect.
Title is the original 1953 GMC vin number. So no weird title work ever involved.
Truck is located 10 minutes from SeaTac airport in Seattle. Shipping is on you. NO RESERVE. I also have placed the vehicle for sale locally therefore reserve the right to end the auction at anytime should the vehicle sell. If you buy it I suggest paying the down payment. Until that is paid I will not consider it sold.
I know buying a vehicle on ebay is scary and a gamble. I assure you the moment you drive this truck you will be in love.
