65 GMC short wide resto rod. Built to be an old school "what would have been a really cool truckin high school if trucks were cool back then" concept.Quality rebuilt mild 454, .030 over pistons. mild rv cam, 750 4 bbl on Edelbrock manifoldhot HEI ignition, 2 1/2 inch exhaust with H pipe crossover. 4 speed Saginaw with Hurst shifter.New clutch. Vacuum assist drum brakes. New Power steering this year. New Firestone Indy 500 tires when built, still have nubs.Sun gauges & tach. Hi output heater core but never driven in winter or weather since painted. Nice original dash with paint detailing.Carpeted, high end Pioneer Premier stereo with ipod hookup in jockey box. Two stage PPG paintauthentic "GM light blue". Front fenders are fiberglass no one has ever noticed, they look that good. Nice rolled rear pan with hiddenlatches tailgate. Body is tight and straight. Inner fenders are powder coated to look original.Mostly original parts from a time when they were available. Bed kit is light oak stained pine withstainless strips. Only travel is a couple of dozen show and shines since built. Nothing farther away than 75 miles one way.Won second in class in 175 car entrant judged show. Paint is really very good, probably 90+ of 100, and is holding up very well. Workmanship is all very good just no wasted money or time. If I could do it at all, it was done right.About as nice as a person would want to drive. Any better truck and I would probably trailer it.Always garaged since resto and only weekend show and shine use, maybe half dozen events per summer.Always a local Boise ID area high desert truck.
