1949 Ford F-1 frame off restoration. Period correct restoration except for transmission (5sp T5), rear end (Explorer 8.8, limited slip with rear disc brakes), upgraded steering box, and bolt on front disc brake kit. Wheels are slightly wider than stock but with period correct dust covers. Original look but very drivable on today's roads and freeways. Engine: Original Ford Flathead V-8, rebuilt by H&H Flatheads, La Crescenta, California, https://handhflatheads.com/ The engine now puts out a little under 300hp from 95hp stock. As shown in the pictures, it now has triple Stromberg chrome carburetors. Old school flathead growl with deep modified flathead v8 sound. Transmission: Manual 5-speed (T5) replaced the stock 3 speed. Rear end: Ford Explorer 8.8. Limited slip with disc brakes. Front end also has bolt on disc brake kit making this old school hotrod truck road worthy with 4 wheel disc brakes. Steering box: Strong upgraded steering box with new steering rod and joint for ease of operation. Horn: Not installed. Comes with three (3) period correct horns. One set of trumpet horns from a Ford F3, a period correct snail horn popular in cars of that era, and also a frequently used in Ford Model A type horn. All three are unrestored. At the time, horns, and turn signals were dealer or aftermarket add on parts. The new period correct braided wiring harness is wired and ready to install whatever horn the new owner wants. Period correct '47 California "Black" license plates, that are titled with the Truck.
New bear claw door hinges installed: The original door latches had a flaw where they would fly open. The new door latches need adjustment.
Restored Gauge/Instrument Cluster from the original stock gauge/instrument cluster. All new internals. Odometer read 101 miles. Not original miles. Odometer was reset after restoration.
