1935 Ford Hot Rod Roadster
1935 Ford Hot Rod Roadster
Early Ford roadster production numbers were well below the other body styles, and '35 Roadsters are some of the hardest to find. This '35 Roadster from this estate was built from the ground up, not a cosmetic built but one to keep and drive. And with only 882 miles showing on the odometer it is hardly broke in. All steel, no fiberglass on this ride. The jet black two-stage paint literally looks a mile deep. (If you break your bathroom mirror you can shave be looking into one of the doors!) Stock Roadster windshield posts, not chopped or laid back. Stock hood with stainless steel handles on both sides. Halogen headlights are set into stock headlights to light up the night.
The front suspension is a Heidt's Mustang II style independent setup with coil overs. Power brakes of coarse. Disc brakes in the front. 8" Maverick rear end with a 2:79 ring and pinion set up with Posies rear parallel leaf springs. The Roadster moves on down the road with a 350 cu. in. V8, mild cam and HEI ignition for quick starts. Edelbrock carburetor feeds the fuel and the Ceramic coated headers move the exhaust out thru the Flowmaster mufflers. A Walker radiator keeps everything cool. It rides on Falken 215/45ZR17 radials mounted on chrome plated Americans in front and 245/45ZR18 Falken radials also on chrome plated Americans in the rear. Stainless Steel front bumper and bumper brackets. The rear also has Stainless Steel bumper brackets and incorporates a Stainless Steel truck bumper that lays straight across the rear instead of having the dip in the middle of the bumper.
Black Hartz cloth top lays on chrome top irons and dropping the top is done with ease. Red leather covers the Harley Davidson pickup bucket seats and they are power seats. A Lokar shifter controls the Turbo 350 transmission. 1940 Ford dash was grafted into the Roadster with a full compliment of Dakota Digital gauges. Matching clock in the glove box door. The Billet Specialties Banjo steering wheel sets on a Flaming River tilt column that controls the Flaming River power rack & pinion steering. There is a package tray built behind the seats that is done in black. The trunk is stitched in the same red leather as the seats.
I have included photos with the top up and down....the car is stunning either way.
