1957 Ford Fairlane

4/20/20251957 Ford for sale. Two door hardtop fairlane 500 club Victoria. This car has a two-tone paint being black and red. Rust is practically non-existent. I don’t believe this car was ever in an accident. The paint job is adequate but a re-paint is probably in order. The bumpers are fair. The car was built in Memphis Tenn. in 1957, one year prior to that ford plants closing in 1958. It is a southern car being registered in Mississippi and Louisiana over time. This car has power steering and is equipped with 312v8 “y”block thunderbird special engine with a 3 speed standard transmission with overdrive. I installed a new clutch in 2022 and at that time the flywheel was resurfaced. Many receipts exist Some date back years. The generator was recently replaced. Vehicle mileage exceeds 100k. The car has had 2 minor restorations. One in the mid 1980s and one circa 2000.The car has never run down to the point of needing a total restoration. The master cylinder and brakes are fairly new. The 4 bbl carburetor is practically new. It alone was $400 in cost. Brake lights function as do the turn signals. The dual exhaust is in good repair. The script and ornamentation is above average and in good repair. The quarter panel (upper chrome) molding strips should be replaced. The front bumper is adequate, but probably should be re-chromed. The grille is in very good condition. The original hubcaps are also in good condition, as I have extra hubcaps that go with the car. I also have a pair of fender skirts for the car. The car has a new original trunk mat. Trunk flooring, and inner quarter panels inside the trunk are excellent. A new license Plate lamp was installed with new rubber that goes between the body and the bumper. ABC auto upholstery supplied the original upholstery for the car. I have the original owners manual for the car as well. All glass is adequate except for a small bullseye on the front windshield. All tires including the spare are in good shape, including the Jack assembly Speedometer and odometer both function. The gauges and the headlight switch are in working order. Also the bright light switch located on the floorboard functions properly. The paint is fair, as this car is an excellent driver but should be repainted in time. The vacuum wiper motor was re built. Car came from the factory without a defroster, heater or outside mirror. All were still options in 1957. It has been garaged the entire 50 years I’ve owned it. Its always had premium gasoline with led additives, that I have used with most fill ups. The battery is 4 months old. The car is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied.
