1936 Ford Model 68 Convertible Blue Cabriolet
1936 Ford Model 68 Cabriolet
This is my 1936 Ford Cabriolet Hot Rod Build. Frame off restoration. Vehicle is all steel with OEM parts from other cars that didn't stand the test of time. All frame work for transmission integration, 4 link rear suspension, rack & pinion drop spindle front end were fabricated during the frame portion of the build. The chassis was assembled complete, aligned, and made free from the body. The 1936 frame was never designed to handle all the modern day goodies that we have in every new car on the road today. Support has been tastefully added in locations that cannot be seen unless you are to remove the body again. Frame has been upgraded to handle all hot rod components without compromised original look. The details are what separate ever car. No corners were cut at any point during this build.
Vehicle Details
1936 Cabriolet frame of restoration. 5 speed Borge Warner Close ration manual transmission. Has a narrowed Ford 9 inch rear end and a 4 link independent rear suspension, complete with tubular upper and lower control arms, adjustable coil-over, rear sway bar, and adjustable links, and topped off with 4 pistion - custom floating disc brakes with high grade steal to help prevent corrosion for the life of the vehicle. V8 POWER with an 010 engine block, Camel hump heads with .202 intake and .194 exhaust. Engine was done professionally by engine builder in Oregon. Engine is balanced, blueprint, and contains all Billet components. H beam rods, Keith Black pistons, titanium valve springs, aggressive street strip Camshaft that produces low end torque from 1000RPM to 6,000RPM. It has just under a .500 lift. We wanted the vehicle to produce vacuum at idle so that functionality of brakes were not compromised. Ram horn style headers with stainless exhaust. Headers have jet hot coating to reduce engine bay temperatures. Bullet engine accessories to bring them upward in the engine compartment so everything can be seen when. You look under the hood. Engine is just under 500 hp at the flywheel. Twin disc clutch was used for increased clamp force and very easy to push in clutch pedal. Vehicle is currently in a storage facility. After the auction has ended and payment has been made, I will pay all storage dues so that vehicle can be transported to you. I don't have time to finish the project and need to allocate money to some other projects that are also not quite finished. This is my attempt to consolidate all irons in the fire down to just one! I have all documents, pictures, that document the build of this car. I have about 70K total invested. The interior needs finished, and the top needs to be put on. If I ever decide to do this again, the one thing I would do differently is I would find a car that is almost complete, then do all the things need to be done for a fraction of the cost. I have the seats to the vehicle and just hate to see it go.
